The Review of Short Story

(April in Moscow)

Introduction: The story starts in the café where April’s Teacher, Maria Grant, announce a good
news to April. It is April will performe her beautiful dance in front of people in
Moscow, Russia. While April at the time is in the England.

Brief Summary Briefly, this story begins when April gets good news from her teacher that she will be
performing dancing in Moscow, Russia. Then when April performed a beautiful dance, one of the audience was very
amazed at April and then fell in love with April. And April fell in love with that person at first sight. They traveled
for 3 days together in Moscow. But the moment of separation is the climax of this story where April has to part with
her lover. But there is a surprise at the end of the story where the lover is determined to marry April and come with
April to England where she grew up. And they live happily together.

Personal ReflectionThe values we get from this story are extracted into 2 proverbs that are very common among
Indonesian people. "Mattress is not going anywhere" and "You will always be able to be whatever you want as long
as you try hard". The first was when April married Nicholas from a different country, namely April from England
and Nicholas from Russia. Second, I'm sure April must always train hard and certainly has potential so her teacher
chose her to perform dance in Russia.

Settings The places in this story are at the cafe where April got the
news that she would be dancing at a prestigious theater in Moscow.
One of the parks in Moscow where April performs her dance. At the airport
where April and Nicholas parted ways.

Character April : Friendly & Persistent

Maria Grant : Appreciative and Kind
Nicholas : Appreciative and Serious

Critical Analysis : if we personally the attitude of Nicholas who fell in

love at first sight is very strange. Because after all, loving and even
wanting to marry someone we just met is not good for us because we don't know
the person well.
