Help make Text-to-Speech (TTS) audio pronunciation and Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR)
more accurate for Google products, such as Maps, Translate, Assistant, and accessibility
services for users everywhere – in your native language.

We are very excited to announce the Vocalize 2.0 campaign, exclusively for community
members in Africa. Participants will be contributing to the Audio Validation (Amharic only) or
Audio Donation (Other Languages) during the course of 40 days (Dec 9 to Jan 17).

Languages–
● Nigeria: Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba
● Ethiopia: Amharic*, Oromo, Tigrinya
● Ghana: Akan
● Rwanda: Kinyarwanda
● Somalia: Somali
*Amharic-speaking users can contribute to the Audio Validation task only

● Campaign Format 🎯
○ The campaign will follow a group-based format (and a friendly competition!)
○ Participants will be assigned to groups randomly
○ Groups will have captains who will help in guiding the members
● Special Surprise for.. 🎁
○ Top contributors in each language (min. 500 contributions)
○ Members of the top-scoring group (min. 500 contributions each)
○ Top referrers (min. 30 new contributing participants to be referred)

How to contribute?

Step 1: Make sure that you sign up for the campaign through
goo.gle/ssa-vocalize

Step 2: After signing up, you will need to install the Languages–
● Nigeria: Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba
Crowdsource app through Play Store and add the languages ● Ethiopia: Amharic*, Oromo,

Step 3: Go to the Audio Donation or Audio Validation task on
