In your understandings, what are professional competence and due

care/diligence? What are relationship between competence and diligence?

❖ Professional competence is the combination of education, right and


experience which you'd be getting if you have an internship and audit or
after you get your degree experience that gives you mastery of the
common knowledge that is necessary for CPAs. And this not only
includes specialized knowledge but also ongoing maintenance that
applies to particular industries and engagements.

❖ Due care/diligence is a high value skill in the workplace, that with time
management will help a member markedly. A member certainly tried to
be diligent in their own instructional commitments and their research
commitments and that makes the job much more enjoyable. Their
responsibility to complete services promptly, carefully and follow
through thoroughly in accordance with applicable technical and ethical
standards.

❖ The relationship between competence and diligence are very important


because when auditing professionals undertake an engagement, they have
to observe the professions, minimum hurdles for technical and ethical
standards. So this is grounded in competence and in diligence, which
requires auditors to: attain and maintain professional knowledge and skill
at the level required to ensure that a client or employing organization
receives competent professional service, based on current technical and
professional standards and relevant legislation; and act diligently and in
accordance with applicable technical and professional standards.
