Prolonged storage at higher temperatures andlor humidity levels wil ‘shorten the shelf life. Material should be printed or primered within 2 weeks of reception. For further details, please see Printability section ‘The material is very sensitive to pressure and can gain surface marks: + Rolls should be stored vertically + Roll lengths should be kept less than 1000 im + Rolls should be wound with low tension settings - PVC is sensitive to heat causing softening (increased risk of pressure marks) and increasing plasticiser migration (reducing printabilty ite) = Corona treatment prior to printing and primering is strongly recommended. - Printing should be carried out within two weeks from the date of delivery, if primering of the material is not carried out upon the receipt: «This is due to the migration of the plasticisers to the surface of the material. The plasticisers affect the ink anchorage and print quality. - Primering of the material within two weeks of the receipt the material can extend the printable life of the product : + Tests carried out using Fujifilm Sericol RVAQ7 UV-cured flexo primer allowed material to be printed succesfully for up to six months The primer will affect the surface gloss and clarity —it is recommended to use UV flexo high gloss/high slip varnish to improve clarity and protection + Other primers need to be tested before use - High quality results can be achieved using UV flexo, UV screen and UV letterpress: « Inks suitable for soft, ‘heauly plasticised” PVC need to be used + Other printing methods need to be tested Material does not contain DEHP plasticiser.
