Researches on Predicting Marriages with the Davison Chart

RESEARCHING THE DAVISON CHART TO PREDICT DAY OF

MARRIAGE USING 7th HOUSE
By Alphee Lavoie, 3/7/13

ABSTRACT

This research attempts to determine how well we can predict the day of
marriage with the Davison chart. The Davison chart is calculated using
the midpoints of birthday, birth time, time zone, latitude, and longitude
between two people.

INTRODUCTION

I always felt that the Davison chart was a very powerful chart for work
with a couple. I wanted to research to see if marriage in the Davison
chart comes out of the seventh house. I was trying to prove if aspects
between the seventh house energy, planets in the seventh house and its
ruler produce marriage.

METHODOLOGY

We collected 597 marriages with exact birth time for the male and
female. We used the Astro Investigator research software designed and
written by AIR Software to do our research (www.alphee.com ).

There are many different predictive techniques that astrologers use, but I
decided to use:
1. transits
2. backward transits
3. secondary progressions direct
4. secondary progressions converse
5. solar arc direct
6. solar arc converse

With the Astro Investigator software you can set up all kinds of models
that consist of different astrological criteria depending on what you're
trying to research. You can set up hundreds of them using all kinds of
different astrological techniques and systems. I decided to work with the
following astrological criteria:

All 1° orb, conjunction, trine, and sextile only

1. the ruler of the seventh house aspecting the ruler of the ascendant
2. the ruler of the seventh house aspecting planets in the first house
3. the ruler of the seventh house aspecting planets in the seventh cusp
4. the ruler of the ascendant aspecting planets in the seventh house
5. the ruler of the seventh house aspecting the ascendant
6. the ruler of the seventh house aspecting the descendent
7. the ruler of the ascendant aspecting the descendent

Then I used this model with the six different predictive techniques I
selected.

RESULTS

Testing the seven criteria to the Davison chart with six predictive
techniques I found:
1. if I test only transit I get a 25% probability
2. if I test transit and backward transit, I get 41% probability
3. if I test transit, backward transit, solar arc direct I get 60% probability
4. if test transit, backward transit, solar arc direct, solar arc converse I
get 69% probability
5. if I test transit, backward transit, solar arc direct, solar arc converse I
get 70 % probability
6. if I test transit, backward transit, solar arc direct, solar arc converse,
secondary progress direct I get 76% probability
7. if I test transit, backward transit, solar arc direct, solar arc converse,
secondary progress direct, secondary progression converse I get 79% %
probability.

CONCLUSION

This study does prove there is a relationship between the first and
seventh house and marriage in the Davison chart. I found that we can
predict marriage using conjunction, sextile, and a trine aspect 1° orb by
79%.

In looking back at our prior research that we did using the new moons
and eclipses where we could predict the marriage by 88% of the time.
using the methodology from these two researches shows that we can
predict marriage with the Davison chart pretty close to hundred percent
of the time.

If I use the five Ptolemy aspect and use the same models with 1° orb, I
could have predicted marriage in 90% of them

I also tested the tertiary and minor predictive techniques together and I
was able to predict marriage by 67%, with only these two types of
predictive techniques.
I think we have proven beyond the shadow of the doubt that the
Davidson chart is an excellent technique to predict timing of marriage.
