FARM MANAGER - KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS WEIGHTING

Quantitative Targets – Production, feed/pasture, livestock, and mating targets met as outlined in job description/budget.
Production 10
 225,000 kgMS/year (Freedom)  Milk Solids/Cow average for season: 450 kgMS (Freedom)
 Milk Solids/Cow/Day at peak: 2.2 kgMS (Freedom)  Milk Solids/Hectare: 1452 kgMS (Freedom)
Feed & Pasture Management 25
 No paddocks lost due to pugging  All pasture and feeding targets are met in Manager’s absence.
 Pasture residue close to 1500 kgDM/ha throughout the year  Minimum Average Pasture Cover at:
 Reliable and accurate information supplied to Employer when required  1 June – 1850 kgDM/Ha
 Feed conversion – ratio (to be confirmed)  Calving start – 2100 kgDM/Ha
 Seasonal pasture management plan is followed closely.  10 October – 1850 kgDM/Ha
 Targets set within the pasture plan are adhered to.
Livestock & Husbandry 10
 Minimum cow condition score at calving start: 5  Blood tests taken in Autumn, pre and post calving.
 Minimum cow condition score at first round of AI: 4.6  Reliable and accurate information supplied to Employer when required.
 Minimum cow condition score at end of season: 4.8  All cow losses and significant health problems reported within 24 hours.
 Less than 2.5% cow losses.  Vaccinations and drenching of young stock occur within timeframes outlined in young stock policy.
 Less than 5% calf losses.
Mating 15
 90% submission rate in first round of mating (24 days).  Planned start to calving at midpoint less than 14 days.
 70% conception rate at 6 week mark.  Reliable and accurate information supplied to Employer when required.
 Empty rate of 8% or lower.  All daily mating targets are met in Manager’s absence.
