Classifier
(AVC)

An Automatic Vehicle Classification (AVC) system is the basis for the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)
that provides information about vehicle classes. It helps to identify and classify vehicles to collect the
appropriate toll amount for smooth traffic operations.

A reliable AVC prototype system uses wireless sensors like the accelerometers to convert pavement vibration
into axle locations. The magnetometers to detect the magnetic field changes and estimate vehicle speed. The
sensor data is then further synchronized and processed in real-time for revenue collection management.

EFKON India's AVC is a profiler-based system that ensures accurate vehicle detection and vehicle classification
by offering outstanding performance. Our solution is based on infra-red technology with the capacity to carry
more than 400 operations and provides more than 99.5% accuracy over multiple classes, as
mentioned by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

How the AVC system works? 2. Extraction
Our AVC system is based on advanced infrared sensor This step is performed in two phases:
technology, and it uses integrated devices and software In the first step, filtering and image morphing
applications in the toll lanes for an efficient toll collection. operations are applied to the reconstructed image
Following these operations, skeletonization is
performed. Skeleton of a binary image reduces
