Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

My respected audience and my dear brothers and sisters,

I welcome all of you with:

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

May Peace, Mercy and Blessings of Allah Sub'hanahu wa ta'aala be upon all of you.

I’m ____________________________ will deliver a speech with the theme of

Scholars of the Inheritance of the Prophet, Educating the Rabbani Ummah. The title

of my speech today is the Role of Scholars in Forming Perfect Muslims.

The Prophet SAW said:

"Indeed the scholars are the heirs of the prophets. Indeed the prophets did not inherit

dinars and dirhams. Indeed they only inherited knowledge, so whoever takes the

inheritance has taken a large share." -Narrated by Tirmizi, Ahmad, Ad-Darimi, Abu

Dawud

My fellow audience whom I highly respect,

Here I would like to explain my first point which is the Role of Scholars as Conveyors

of Religious Knowledge. In the religion of God, there are two main references,

namely the Quran and the Hadith. As Muslims, we need to understand and learn the

religion of God based on the main sources of reference. In Islamic Shari'a, the

authentic understanding of religion is not owned by everyone, but instead owned and

maintained by the learned scholars and they will deliver to Muslims. Among the

things that the Prophet SAW left to his people was the ‘jeehad’ to spread the

teachings of Islam that he had brought. The words of His beloved prophet was

"Convey to you from me even a piece of verse." (Hadith narrated by al-Bukhari). So

it is correct that the role of scholars in imparting religious knowledge is very

important in educating the Islamic community.

My beloved brothers and sisters,

Now we come to my last point, which is the Book of Scholars as a Reference After

the Al-Qur'an and Hadith. Previous Islamic scholars had produced numerous books

to serve as a reference for Muslims. Among the books that are often referred to are;

the Book of Al Bukhari, the book of the 4 Mazhabs and other books. With those

books, it will be easier for Muslims to deepen their knowledge on religion. This is

means that the role of the Islamic scholars’ book is very important in educating

Muslims as a whole.

Dear my beloved audience,

The Messenger of Allah once gave a beautiful story about scholars as his words

mean: "Scholars on God's earth can actually be likened to a cluster of stars in the

sky that light up and illuminate the darkness of mankind's journey in the ocean and

on land. If the star does not twinkle, then the mankind will certainly are in utter

darkness and error." (Hadith of Ahmad's History).

So here, I would like to conclude my speech today. Once again, I would like to

emphasize that the role of scholars is very important in educating Muslims with

perfect knowledge and charity. With that, I thank you.

Wabillahi taufiq, wassalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
