Failure to Follow the guidelines that have been established for this program will result in disciplinary action. Cell phones are not permitted in class at all. A student can be given an administrative referral the first time that they take out their phone in for any reason.

Discipline: ThatmeansthateachstudentisawareofhowIrunmyclass,andtheexpectationsIhaveforeach studentandmyself.Thefollowingproceduresarenecessarytoaneffectivelearningenvironment,and arethepersonalitytraitsthatmustbeexhibitedbysuccessfulemployees. I. Treatyourpeers,teachers,andyourselfwithrespect. II. Actprofessionallyatalltimes.(Thisincludes,butisnotlimitedto,dressandlanguage.) III. Disposeofallfood,candy,gum,ordrinksbeforeenteringtheclassroom.NOexceptions. IV. FollowallrulesasoutlinedintheNorthCobbStudentHandbook. V. Askthreethenme. Failuretofollowtheguidelinesthathavebeenestablishedforthisprogramwillresultindisciplinary action.Thefirstoffensewillbeaverbalwarning.Thesecondoffensewillbeaparentcontact.The thirdoffensewillresultinanadministrativereferral. *ElectronicsPolicy:Cellphonesarenotpermittedinclassatall.Astudentcanbegivenan administrativereferralthefirsttimethattheytakeouttheirphoneinclass,foranyreason.Music players(notcellphones)canbeusedonlywithteacherapproval.Unauthorizedwebaccessfroma schoolorpersonalcomputerwillresultinanimmediatereferralandrevocationofcomputer privileges.     YoucankeepupwithyourgradeintheclassbyaccessingPinnacle.ThegradesforBVP1willbe brokendownintothefollowingcategories,withdifferentweightsbeingassignedtoeachcategory. IndividualProjects: 25% Youwillhavevariousindividualprojectsthatmustbecompletedduring GroupProjects: 25% Tests&Quizzes: 20% Employability: 10% FinalProject&Exam: 20%

    yourtimeinthiscourse.Theseprojectwilldemonstrateyourmasteryof thetopicsandskillslearnedthroughoutthesemester. AsthisisaCareerTechnologyclass,thesearetheprimaryfocusesofthe class.Inthetelevisionindustryyouworkingroups,inhere,youdothe same. Tobesurethatyouarelearningthematerialnecessarytobesuccessfulin thisprogram,youwillbetestedandquizzed. Thiswillbedeterminedbyanobservationofstudentworkethic,attitude, andprofessionalism.Thinkjobreference. Yourfinalwillconsistoftwoparts:awrittenfinalcoveringthetopicsand termsdiscussedduringclassandafinalproject.Moreinformationabout thefinalprojectwillbegivenoutonemonthbeforethelastdayofclass.

    Supplies: Eachstudentisrequiredtosupplytheirownportablememorydevice(flashdriveorharddrive)for storingindividualprojects.Itishighlyrecommendedthatyoupurchaseaunitwithatleast8GBof storage,asvideoprojectsareverylargefiles.DVDscanbepurchasedfromTheSpearfor$1.00each. ModelRelease& Attachedtothissyllabusyouwillfindatwosideddocument.Themodelreleaseallows Student/ParetAgreement: yourstudenttoparticipateinvideoproductionactivitiesbothonandoffcamera.Italso allowstheprogramtouseyourimage,likeness,orvoiceforanypurpose.Itreallyjust givesmepermissiontoputyourvideosonSchoolTube. Theothersideofthedocumentistheyoubreakit,youbuyitagreement.Basically,if youarenegligentinyouruseoftheequipmentanditbreaks,youareresponsibleforthe replacementcostofthebrokenequipment.Youcannotparticipateinbroadcastvideo productionprojectsandWILLNOTPASStheclasswithouthavingbothsidesofthis documentsignedandreturnedbythefirstFridayofthesemester.
