AI has become more and more integrated into our daily lives and
is not only a technology. We see brand-new advancements every
day in every aspect of life, from politics to economics. Technol-
ogy, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things (IoT) have
made it possible for us to effortlessly visit numerous places that we
previously couldn’t.
Technology plays a direct role in our life, from the In-
ternet research we perform to the products that are delivered to
our door with just one click. Artificial intelligence (AI) has trans-
formed technology across many sectors and provided solutions to
a number of societal issues.
And now let’s get into all the matter about ChatGPT:
The internet is being completely overtaken by OpenAI’s
ChatGPT. On the official website of OpenAI, the AI-powered
chatbot is available for public testing, and users may practical-
ly test out its functions for free. Many even claim that because
ChatGPT’s responses are more conversational and human-like, it
has a great deal of potential to replace Google Search. Further-
more, ChatGPT can even examine and produce programmes in
a matter of seconds, which is bad news for aspiring program-
mers. Even challenging math issues can be resolved using it. Like
other technologies, ChatGPT has its shortcomings, which the
business has acknowledged.

What’s ChatGPT?
Simply put, ChatGPT is a chatbot where users can ask questions,
and the platform uses artificial intelligence (AI) to provide replies.
The company has created it so that users can receive both techni-
cal and non-jargony responses.
The chatbot employs Reinforcement Learning from
Human Feedback (RLHF) technology, according to the business,
but has been modified to sound friendlier to people. It is built
on GPT-3.5, a language model for deep learning that generates
text that resembles human speech. If consumers ask the same
question again in the future, they can receive different answers.
That’s because the chatbot will develop over time and use ma-
chine learning to better interpret requests.
After the tests are finished, OpenAI can make
ChatGPT’s underlying technology available to businesses that
use chatbots. As an illustration, the chatbot can be utilised for stu-
dents, personal assistants (to aid users with duties like scheduling,
reminders, and other everyday activities), and
customer service (for Airtel, Paytm, Swiggy,
and more) (to help them solve complex ques-
tions in simple words).

To become a $30 Trillion economy in the next 25 years, India will have to think of becoming a Digital
superpower and not just stay restricted to Infrastructure. Our focus needs to shift from Infra-Infra to
Digital Infra. The following 3 expectations are some serious expectations of CCICI from the Finance
Ministry:-
• TDS for Cloud Service providers and Data Center service providers should be brought in line
with the Telco’s. Tax Deduction at source for the Telco’s is 0.5%, while that for Cloud and Data
Center service providers is 10%. As the profitability of CSPs and Data Center service providers
is on the lower side, so the TDS should be brought in line with the Telecom sector.
• Indian startups are going through difficult times right now due to Covid-19 and all the financial tur-
bulence we saw in the year 2022. Funding is no longer available to Indian startups and Indian IT Enter-
prises, as foreign Investors have chosen to wait for some time before taking any decision of investing
in the Indian Startups and IT sector. The Indian government has many funds that invest their equity into
Indian companies, but at the moment all such investments seem to be happening in the Infrastructure
sector only. The government needs to prioritize equity investment in the Technology sector as well, as
our local startups will lose tech advantage if they don’t get funded on time. India will become more
and more dependent on foreign companies and a major outflow of foreign currency from the country
will hurt our aspirations to become the world’s leading financial power. Under the banner of CCICI, we have requested the
finance ministry to set up a dedicated fund that can be named *Digital India Infrastructure Fund(DIIF)* to cater to the focused
growth of the Digital India initiatives.

RBI approves Surinder Chawla’s appointment as MD &

CEO of Paytm Payments Bank; All You Need to Know

he Reserve Bank of India has approved
the nomination of senior banker Su-
rinder Chawla as the new Managing
Director (MD) and Chief Executive
Officer (CEO) of India’s domestic Paytm Pay-
ments Bank, according to Paytm parent firm

Kumar Gupta, the previous CEO of Paytm
Payment Bank, retired in October 2022, and
Chawla will take his place. Deependra Singh
Rathore will serve as interim CEO. The nec-
essary regulatory processes must be com-

The Indian-based bank had pre-
viously come under regulatory scrutiny. In
March 2022, the RBI barred it from accept-
ing new clients. According to the central

Sony’s PlayStation 5 has crossed the
30 Million units in sales, previous
shortage issues no longer present

ccording to Sony, the PlayStation
5 console has now sold more than
30 million copies, thereby ending
the console scarcity. The new sta-
tistic, which is an increase of five million
from the 25 million amount disclosed
two months earlier on November 1, was
released by Jim Ryan, head of Sony
Interactive Entertainment, at Sony’s

projected to total $4.5 tril-
lion in 2023, an increase of
2.4% from 2022, according
to the latest forecast by Gart-

the previous quarter’s
forecast of 5.1% growth.
While inflation continues
to erode consumer pur-
chasing power and drive
device spending down,
overall enterprise IT spending
is expected to remain strong.
“Consumers and enter-
prises are facing very different
economic realities,” said John-Da-
vid Lovelock, Distinguished VP
Analyst at Gartner. “While inflation
is devastating consumer markets,
contributing to layoffs at B2C
companies, enterprises continue to
increase spending on digital busi-
ness initiatives despite the world
economic slowdown.

sales in 2022, was the worst-per-

which will be delivered in the current
financial year”, he says.
For the young enterprise, it was
not easy to win the confidence of the
country’s top institutes. Government’s
push and policies made MII brands eli-

of Central Institutes. To win the confi-
dence of the officials, teachers, how-
ever was a different ball game, Vaddi
says.“We visited these institutes telling
them about RDP”.
What made a big difference
was an element of surprise for

and explaining. “This doesn’t
happen with the MNCs where
sales are handled by the
salesperson”, Vaddi says. “We
were entertained by officials.
Satisfied with our product line, we are
even getting encouragement by these
institutes”, he said.

premier institutions, he says.
