SUMMARY:

The abuse is most likely to be described as an act of commission & neglect,

defined as an act of omission in the care leading to potential or actual harm. By "any
types of physical and emotional ill-treatment, sexual abuse, neglect, and exploitation
that results in actual or potential impairment to the child's health, development, or
dignity," the World Health Organization (WHO) means abuse of children.

Neglect, physical abuse, psychological abuse, and sexual abuse are the four
basic categories of abuse. Lack of primary requirements like clothes and food, as well
as insufficient access to health care, education, supervision, and protection from
environmental dangers, are all examples of neglect. Child abuse most frequently takes
the form of neglect.

Physical abuse may be a beating, shaking, burning, or biting. It's uncertain at

what point physical punishment qualifies as abuse. The most frequent finding connected
to physical abuse is rib fractures. Verbal abuse, humiliation, and activities that frighten
or intimidate a kid are all examples of psychological abuse that might lead to the child
developing a psychiatric disorder in the future.

"The engagement of dependent, developmentally immature children and

adolescents in sexual behaviors that they do not completely appreciate, to which they
are unable to provide permission, or that violate the social taboos of family roles," is the
definition of sexual abuse.

The majority of child abuse instances are typically ignored by healthcare

professionals. A strong index of suspicion is required to make the diagnosis of child
abuse.
REACTION:

I totally agree with article because it really tackles there that child abuse and
neglect is really alarming and can also affect any aspect of the kid’s life. It also tackles
there the different types of abuse in the kids and impacts on it in the child’s life as it
grows up or it became mature.

I realize that abuse could affect the social life and skills of a kid despite of what
type of abuse that the kid encounter. Somehow the kid’s social lifestyle could change
drastically and it will be alarming since kids should enjoy their life but was not able to do
it due to the abuse and neglection. Also, I realize on neglection on kids that they were
also deprived from their primary needs especially education, food and clothes.

The positive impact of the article is that it was able to detailed and give definition
to the said problem. Also, it really tackles up what could be the possibilities or changes
that could happen to the kid’s life. Most importantly those neglected child they were able
to point out what are they lack to that lead them there in that situation. On the negative
side, there are still kids that could not be diagnose because it takes a lot of suspicion to
diagnose it and was typically ignored in the health center.

As a nurse, to be able to find a kid or child who could be a victim of child abuse
and neglection is that we need to somehow study more on the problem and with that we
could be able to find a solution or treatment that could be apply on them and with that
they could feel the safety on the solution. Nevertheless, the most important thing to do
to lessen or decreased the cases of child abuse and neglection on them is through
communicating the parents to make them feel that they have a family. Preventive factors
include parental education regarding child development and parenting, social support, as well
as parental resilience.
