• Health promotion: is the process of enabling people to increase control over,
and to improve, their health. It moves beyond a focus on individual behaviour
towards a wide range of social and environmental interventions.

health. Health promotion action aims at reducing
differences in current health status and
ensuring equal opportunities and resources to
enable all people to achieve their fullest health

• Health promotion and health education both
advocate for health in a systematic way or as a
planned application, however we learned in class
that anyone can promote health, but not everyone
can be a health educator when it comes to health
education.

promotion and health education
• Health education involves voluntary changes in behavior
through awareness, knowledge, skills, beliefs, attitudes, and
values, whereas health promotion utilizes approaches that
compel individuals to change their behaviors.
