Prepare the lancing device : Twist and remove the cap from the lancing device Insert the lancet by properly pushing it into the holder Reattach the cap and adjust the lancing device as per skin thickness (smaller numbers provide shallower and less painful punctures) 4. Prick the fingertip with the clean lancet and wait for the blood to ooze out. 5. Touch and hold the edge of the test strip to the drop of blood and wait for the result 6. The meter will display your blood sugar level on a screen after a few seconds.
