An Overview 5 years Survival Rate in Colorectal Cancer Patients in Wahidin sudirohusodo Hospital:
Single Center 5-years Retrospective Study

Abstract

Background: 5-years overall survival of colorectal cancer was 42%. Based on the patient's prognosis
factors, several differences in the survival rate were found in colorectal cancer patients. This
research aims to know the difference between prognosis factors and overall survival rate in
colorectal cancer patients at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo General Hospital Makassar.

Methods: This study was conducted on all patients of all colorectal cancer patients in 2012 - 2016
who were treated by the Subdivision of Digestive surgery at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo General
Hospital Makassar. The sample used was the prognosis factor data collected from patient medical
records. Overall survival rate were analyzed using Kaplan Meier and bivariate analysis using log-rank
analysis.

Results: The results of the log-rank analysis of the prognostic factors of age, histopathology,
histopathology grade, stage, chemotherapy, CEA ratio, and NLR with the overall survival rate showed
P-values of 0.681, 0.007, 0.067, 0.014, 0.505, 0.025, and 0.043, respectively.

Conclusions: There was a significant difference of patient’s overall survival rate in prognostic factors
of histopatholog, CEA ratio, NLR and stage of the cancer. Histopathology.
