Chapter 102
A while later, Delfina stood up, leaning against the wall,
and staggered away. The bodyguards wanted to stop her,
but he said coldly:
-Leave her!
Without Santiago’s permission, no doctor would attend to
Delfina’s request, not even if it was an emergency. Alvaro
was crippled now, as he had a small fracture in his left leg.
Later, Santiago took her to her house by force and locked
her up for three days. As a protest, he did not take a single
bite of the food the servants sent him. It was only three
days, but in the end it was just skin and bones.
Pontevedra was graced once again by rain and lightning.
– Still not eating? The maid shook her head, her face
worried. Julian frowned at this. This can not go on like this.
With that, he headed up the stairs.
-Hey, you can’t go, Julián! -Susana tried to stop him, but
she was in vain.
Julian went to the bedroom. Delfina was curled up in bed
in her white nightgown, her hair disheveled and her face
pale. If she didn’t know, she would have thought she was
dead.
– Delphine. He-he moved quickly toward her, but when he
moved closer to her, he ducked carefully, worried that any
sudden movement might throw her off balance.
He knew better than anyone what not to do, since it was
the same situation as last time. So, she was also curled up
on the bed, and the bed was soaked with blood. She
looked like a broken and lifeless doll.
– Delphine. She-she took hold of her shoulders carefully
+. What happened? Tell me.
But Define didn’t say anything. She was enveloped in a
deep, dark despair.
Julian felt helpless, but he had to move on.
You have to keep going no matter what happens. Your
grandmother needs you; don’t forget about that. Eat and
live. Everything will get better.
Delfina stared at Julián, but she no longer seemed herself.
Her mind was blank. On the first day, all she could think
about was how Álvaro’s leg was broken. On the second
day, she could only think about everything that had
happened since she married Santiago. She was crazy, and
she nearly killed her. But on the third day, she couldn’t
remember anything.
The only thing she could think of was that she was
unlucky; she thought that maybe everyone around her
would be better off if she had never existed. No one could
threaten them then. There was nothing in her gaze. Her
eyes were lifeless.
Julian panicked. He couldn’t take it anymore, so he picked
her up and whispered:

– I’ll take you away from this place.
Susana was surprised to see that Julián was going out
with Delfina.
– What are you doing, Julian? What if Santiago sees this?
Give it back quickly.
.
The moment he said that, Santiago came from the
doorway with all his fury. Seeing Santiago, Delfina
snuggled faster.
-I’m going to take her today no matter what. Julian’s face
darkened. I’m not going to let her die here.
-And why is she going to die? Santiago looked at him
gravely.
– Because of your abuse.
-Is that so? Is that what you told him? That I am abusing
you? – Santiago looked at her and approached them.
All the color drained from his face, and he clutched at
Julian’s shirt.
– Do you deny it? Julian took a step back, alarmed.
Santiago kept looking at Delfina calmly.
– Your friend was injured because of you. You’ve been
having a tantrum for a few days. Yes, you blame yourself
for this, but I don’t think your friend wants to see this,
right?
Hearing this, Delfina looked up quickly and began to panic.
Julian frowned.
-What happened?
-It is a long story. I’ll tell you when she heals.
Julián was still suspicious of her, but Delfina tugged on his
shirt and made a sign.
– «Lower me».
That surprised Julian, but before he could lower it,
Santiago was already taking it off.
-You’re still hurt. You better not touch the ground.
Delfina shuddered when she felt her anger, and tried to
get rid of her, but Santiago the criminal whispered to her:
-You’d better follow my orders if you don’t want me to
break his other leg.
Delfina trembled, but Santiago pulled her up again.
Although she was in her arms, the only thing she felt was a
terrifying coldness, and all alarms went off in her head, as
if any sudden movement could bring her down.
–Álvaro’s report has come out. Comminuted fracture in her
left leg.
Delfina paled.
-You’re crazy, Echegaray!” -You
should have known that it’s not easy to deal with me from
the moment you got married. Everything you have comes
from me. You have no choice but to follow my orders from
now on. – Santiago el The abuser looked at her coldly, I
won’t mind seeing him in a wheelchair for the rest of his
life.
Delfina shuddered strongly. After leaving her on the floor,
Santiago threw a document on the table.
-Share transfer agreement. Sign this and you will be one
of the largest shareholders. You will have the right to
participate in the meetings of the Board of Directors.
Delfina did not dare to look at him. If she had known the
deal would cost Álvaro his left leg, he would have killed
himself in the car accident.
“Signature,” Santiago threatened coldly. He gripped her
hand tightly and brought it close to the signature line.
Delfina clenched her teeth and signed the papers, but
each stroke of hers seemed like torture. Tears began to fall
on the paper and, along with them, the last remnants of
hope that remained inside. Santiago frowned, as if his
sorry excuse of conscience told him to stop.
– «I will never see Álvaro again. Let it go”.
However, Santiago’s ego was so fragile that a small plea
was enough for it to go crazy and gobble up his
conscience. What he replaced was wickedness without
limits.
Come with me to Tina’s engagement banquet this
weekend. You’d better stay on the line and act like Mrs.
Echegaray -he threatened her once more and stormed off
with the agreement.
Delfina dropped onto the rug and sat for a long time, while
she held on to the edge of the table, trembling with fear.
After the transfer of shares, Delfina became one of the
shareholders of Farmacéutica Murillo, and the financial
department stopped treating her like garbage. She went
into the office to check the accounts, but found no
problem. However, she suspected that the boss had
another account on her hands.
On the other hand, Janice ordered a cup of coffee and
waited for her under the company.
-“I am sorry. I’ve been busy the last few days.
-I know. I’ve seen the news. Congratulations. Janice had a
dark look in her eyes. It was different than usual. Why did
that happen to Álvaro?
