SUBJECT DESCRIPTION:
This subject is a study of Rules 1-39 of the 2019 Amended Rules of Civil
Procedure. The course starts with a review of the differences between substantive and
remedial law, the basic principles of jurisdiction, and the power of the Supreme Court to
promulgate the Rules of Court. The course involves the analysis of the relevant rules,
jurisprudence, and related laws governing procedure in civil cases and upon completion
of the course, students are expected to have a strong fundamental knowledge and
understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
