IGCSE ICT: Systems Life Cycle Guide

The implementation stage involves preparing users for a new system through training and transferring files from the old system. There are four methods for changing over to a new system: direct changeover, parallel running, phased implementation, and pilot running. Direct changeover switches over to the new system immediately after testing. Parallel running uses the old and new systems simultaneously for a period. Phased implementation rolls out the new system in stages by location or department. Pilot running tests the new system in a limited environment first.
