TOPIC: JUVENILE SYSTEM IN INDIA

The present system of the Juvenile Justice System was introduced in India in 1986 and later came the
revised versions of the Act. Before the Juvenile Justice Act 2021,2015,2000 and 1986 existed the
Children Act of 1960 which aimed at rehabilitation and reformation. But in the recent times after
frequent crimes committed by children of age below 18.

Determining the age factor of a man or what ceases to be a child in order to be considered a juvenile
after/ in the process of committing a crime has been a matter of common contention in India.
Juvenile System in India is the area of law that seeks help children to follow the right path and seek
guidance under proper shelter and care. Children are the future of our nation and nurturing and
bringing them to the right path is the duty of the Government. Degrees of crimes committed under
the Juvenile Justice Act are punishable with imprisonment between three to seven years where they
will be arrested without a warrant and is non-bailable.
