DETERMINATION OF IRON CONTENT IN PHOSPHATING DE-RUSTING BATH

REAGENTS:

1. 1.0.1N KMnO4 (Potassium Permanganate) solution

2. 2.1:1 H2SO4 (Sulphuric Acid)

PROCEDURE:

1. Pipette out 10ml of bath in 250ml Conical flask.

2. Add 10ml of 50% H2SO4 (Sulphuric Acid)
3. Titrate against 0.1N KMnO4 solution till Pink colour persists for 15 seconds.

CALCULATION:

1ml. OF 1N KMn04 = 0.056 gm Fe
