Understanding Project Definition and Characteristics

Projects are unique, temporary endeavors undertaken to create a product, service or result. They have start and finish dates, and are completed once objectives are met or if terminated. Projects are distinguished by their uniqueness, temporary nature with a clear start and end, and completion once goals are achieved or deemed no longer worthwhile. Key stakeholders should be identified for any temporary endeavor to determine if it is indeed a project.
