February 2023 Principals of Vocational/Farm/Technical Institutions Heads of Technical Schools/Community Polytechnics General Public ADMISSION OF TRAINEES TO NATIONAL CERTIFICATES AND COMMUNITY POLYTECHNIC CERTIFICATE COURSES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/24 The Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) has planned to decentralize admissions according to region in Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Institutions for the National Certificate (NC) and Uganda Community Polytechnic Certificate (UCPC). This follows the recommendations by the TVET Policy, 2019. In this regard, a selection exercise has been organised to conduct the decentral ised admissions, ‘The exercise will be held per region in the following regional selection centers between 20" to 23" February2023: 1. Ntinda Vocational Training Institute in Kampala Capital City for Central 2. St Kizito Madera Technical Institute Soroti in Soroti City for Eastern. 3. Northem Uganda Youth Development Centre (NUYDC) in Omoro for Northern, and 4. Nyamitanga Technical Institute in Mbarara yy for Western, Application forms can be obtained by all interested applicants from any of the above-mentioned regional selection centers, City/Municipal/District Education Offices District Education Offices, TVET Institutions across the country, Department of TVET Operations and Management - MoES and the Ministry's websites on tvet.go.ug and www.education.go.ug, The list of institutions and courses have been attached to application forms for case of reference. Therefore, applicants are advised to select institutions of their choice from any region.Please note that all application forms and any other service related to processes of admission is cost free. Duly filled application forms with photocopies of certificates, pass slips, passport photos and other relevant documents should be returned to the nearest admission centre by 17" February, 2023. All Heads of TVET Institutions and the General Public are urged to accord this exercise the urgency it deserves and to desist from any other form of admission, unless when cleared by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Sports.
