Image Enhancements
Dream Glow Pro 1 Red
Aaaahhh... You’ll want to create an Action
for this one... The Dream Glow Pro 1 offers
an amazing method to quickly enhance
any image and give it a dream glow quality
without taking away sharpness. If used in a
portrait it will minimize the need to retouch
and with the use of a layer mask it is easy to
bring extra snap in certain areas such as the
eyes, lips and teeth.

Before you get started, bring out your

Channel, Layer and Action Windows in your
work area.

To create an Action for the Dream Glow,

select your Action Window and create a
New Action Set. Next start a new Action
and name it "Dream Glow Pro 1 Red", and
follow the proceeding steps. You'll be
amazed how much you'll use this Action.

Step One: In the Channel Window click

on the RED Channel, Select ALL and COPY
(command key (mac) or Control Key (pc) A,
command/Control C.).

Channels (command/Control ~) and by clicking on the "Add Layer Mask" option
Paste (command/Control V) the Red at the bottom of the Layer Window.
Channel will automatically create a New
Layer. (Or, in the Layer Window create a Step Seven: Using the Paint Brush
blank layer and PASTE the red channel ) with Black paint on the Layer Mask, paint
the eyes, lips, eye brows and areas that
At this point, we're finished using the you want a little more snap to. Painting
Channel window and you can remove it on this mask will reveal the Layer below
from your work area. (Background Layer)

Step Three: Set the blending Mode of NOTE: Before you stop recording your
this layer to Luminosity and Opacity to Action, first select the Move Tool, and then
25%. The Opacity is adjustable later to the Brush Tool, type the letters, D and then
X. This will allow the Action to select your

obtain various effects for portrait, scenic etc..

Step Four: Use the Gaussian Blur Filter with a
high pixel radius to create a smooth transition
between the various tones in the image (in this
project I used 30 pixel radius).

NOTE: Now you’ll see the Dream Glow take effect. Remember the Gaussian Blur Radius
amount along with the Opacity give
you the opportunity to create a vari-
ety of looks and effects. I use 10%
for men and groups, 25% for women,
50% for scenic's and even higher %
for special effects. Experiment with
various settings.

Step Five: While you’re still on

the Dream Glow Layer “Layer 1”, go
to Curves (>Image >Adjustments
>Curves) and create a contrast curve
to add extra punch to this layer.
