PROCEDURE

Opening syringe
1. Open it up then down then left to right

IV with needle
1. Pull out small saline then open syringe. Get 5cc then inject it to the push

3. Then get the syringe with meds then open and push slowly. (Ask pt's name before push) then
close
4. Then get 3 cc again water

IVP Preparation
1. Syringe depends on 2 ampule (10mL = 10cc)
2. Calculate DSQ
3. Check the drug, check the dosage, check the quality and it's expiration date
4. Break the ampule away to you, you may use cloth so it is not slippery
5. Incorporate it into the IV fluid, then aspirate (over 10cc all) "Do not push it"
6. You may now administer, and you may not KINK the tubing due to +saline that will join the
flow of blood

IV FLUIDS INTO HEP-LOCK

1. Open then hep-lock
2. Under the solid color, open it little to the left
3. Press it, remove and insert the hep-lock (Be careful on blood)
4. You may remove one by one the tape and replace another one, if it is only scattered

IV FLUIDS
1. Get the pt IV fluid
2. Get the needle and put it in the meds

7. Gtts is fast. Thus checking like every 15mins is a must

4. Remain the vial to the basket

IV removal
1. Get wet cotton balls
2. Scissor and tape with dry cotton ball
3. Cut the tapes (long) on hand then wipe it with wet from the right.. left.. down, up then done
(on its back of tape not front)
4. Put pressure to 10secs then inform the patient

1. Get temperature
