BS CRIMINOLOGY 2-INDIA SCORE:

NARRATIVE REPORT #2
I knew that those two are the classifications of conduct as we progressed through the “Lesson 2 of 1” module of
this course subject, entitled Normal and Abnormal Behavior. I also understood that normal behavior is also
known as adapted or adjusted behavior, and it is what we called standard behavior and completely accepted
behavior in accordance with society’s standard norms. And the phrases maladaptive and maladjusted both refer
to improper behavior. The 4 D’s of abnormality, which are deviance, distress, dysfunction, and danger, are a
topic that Ma’am Jarmel discusses with us.
She defined deviance as a sort of deviant behavior that deviates from social norms or standards. It denotes
behavior that deviates greatly from what is deemed conventional or expected in a given culture or civilization.
Next is distress, which she explained is a condition in which an individual experiences severe emotional or
psychological suffering that is outside of what would be considered a typical or expected reaction to a particular
scenario or stressor. This can result in feelings of anxiety, depression, or other mental health disorders, which
may necessitate professional involvement and treatment. This topic is particularly intriguing in addition to
dysfunction since it is a sort of abnormality in which an individual's behavior or mental processes vary from
what is deemed normal or healthy and negatively impair their capacity to function effectively in their daily
lives. We are all aware that many kids are struggling with their academics since we do not know what their
status is. Finally, one of the factors that is occasionally used to define abnormal conduct is danger. This
abnormality is significant because if someone repeatedly self-harms, has suicidal thoughts, or reacts
aggressively against others, these behaviors may be regarded abnormal owing to the potential danger they pose.
That is why so many individuals commit suicide these days. What factors contribute to abnormal behavior?
Abnormal conduct, according to Ma'am Jarmel, can be caused by a number of causes, including genetics,
environment, psychological and social variables, and medical disorders. Substance abuse, trauma, mental
diseases, personality disorders, and brain injuries or illnesses are all common reasons of anomalous behavior.
The precise cause of abnormal behavior, on the other hand, might be complex and vary depending on the
individual and their circumstances. To effectively evaluate and treat any odd behavior, it is critical to get expert
treatment from a mental health provider.
It is critical to tackle the issue of abnormal behavior with empathy and a focus on understanding and supporting
the individual rather than negatively or exploitatively utilizing it. Abnormal conduct can reveal crucial
information about underlying mental health difficulties or other concerns that must be addressed, as well as
indicate that the individual requires professional assistance. I realized how grateful I am to live regularly and to
be blessed because I know how to deal with my challenges.
