GM BU - GREEMATRIX Basic Unit
in accordance with DIN EN60849 (VDE 0828)
Professional electro-acoustic preamplifier system
(digital/analogue 4x8 crossbar switching system)
according to DIN EN 60849 (VDE 0828) to control all
internal and external signals from electro-acoustic voice
alarm systems (VAS) or warning systems.
May be used for complex single systems as well as for
sophisticated master/slave applications.
GREEMATRIX (GM BU) manages and monitors
microphone, emergency and stored evacuation
messages, any desired music feeds and the reliable
playback of attention raising signals (gong, siren,
jingle).
In addition, GREEMATRIX (GM BU) communicates
with connected power amplifiers by the emergency
switchover unit GREEMATRIX Switch (GM SW) and
with the emergency power supply, such as EVA 24/4 or
EVA 24/7 and switches off or switches over the
connection to relevant components as required.
The GREEMATRIX (GM BU) System also communi-
cates with an optional speaker line monitoring system,
such as LINEGUARD (LNG ZE) or EVALINE, moni-
toring the connected speaker lines for interruptions,
impedance deviations, short circuits and ground faults.
GREEMATRIX System in accordance with DIN EN 60849 (VDE 0828)
GREEMATRIX (GM BU) includes an independent
software driven monitoring system for all connected
peripherals, offering constant identification and moni-
toring of all functional modules.
All the relevant parameters can be read out via the two
line LCD display. Using the GREEMATRIX software
(Windows XP compatible) which is provided free of
charge, all functions can be programmed by the RS323
interface.
Changes to functions not relevant to safety can be
entered using the keypad. Due to the flexibility of the
system and the fact that up to 10 GREEMATRIX Basic
Units (GM BU) can be cascaded, even very complex
and demanding projects can be realised at a
reasonable price.
The GREEMATRIX System has been developed from a
practical point of view for the needs and an easy use in
public buildings, where a lot of people may have to be
evacuated, such as shopping centres, adminis-
trative buildings, industrial facilities, railway
stations, airports, schools and hotels.

Connection Options
Each GREEMATRIX (GM BU) can control the following
modules or systems:
Up to 2 GREEMATRIX EPROM Boards (GM EB) with up to
8 EPROMs each to store and control alarm and alert voice
announcements or other audio signals for different zones.
Up to 2 GREEMATRIX Input Boards (GM IB) to feed in up to
2x2 external signal sources.
Up to 4 GREEMATRIX Output Boards (GM OB) to activate
up to 4x2 master outputs.
1 GREEMATRIX I/O Board (GM I/O) to connect all
monitored and unmonitored system microphones.
Up to 10 GREEMATRIX Relay Boards (GM REL) with 8
relays each to control functions not related to safety.
1 GREEMATRIX Switch (GM SW) emergency switchover
system to control up to 12 amplifiers.
1 GREEMATRIX Emergency Panel (GM LIPAN) to initiate
different announcements (alarm/alert ) from the
GREEMATRIX Basic Unit (GM BU) into different zones.
Up to 4 GREEMATRIX Audio Panels (GM AUPAN) for
external selection and volume control of music feeds.

GM IB - GREEMATRIX Input-Board

The GREEMATRIX Input Board (GM IB) feeds 2 external signal sources into the
GREEMATRIX Basic Unit (GM BU).

Every input is transformer balanced and has separate tone control (bass and treble).

Up to 2 GREEMATRIX Input Boards (GM IB) may be connected to the GREEMATRIX

Basic Unit (GM BU).

GM OB - GREEMATRIX Output-Board
in accordance with DIN EN 60849 (VDE 0828)

The GREEMATRIX Output Board (GM OB) is able to feed two master output signals from
the GREEMATRIX Basic Unit (GM BU).

Every output is transformer balanced.

Up to 4 GREEMATRIX Output Boards (GM OB) may be connected to the GREEMATRIX

Basic Unit (GM BU).

GM EB - GREEMATRIX EPROM-Board
in accordance with DIN EN 60849 (VDE 0828)

The GREEMATRIX EPROM Board is a autonomic sound board to be plugged on the

GREEMATRIX Basic Unit main-board.

Each GM EB has 8 pieces 24-pin-socket supporting the (non volatile) 4MB EPROMs.

All the functions of the GM ES are monitored by the GREEMATRIX Basic Unit (GM BU)

Each GM BU will support at max. two of these boards.

When using two GM EB, the alarm- and alert messages can be transmitted symulatingly
into different zones.

GM I/O - GREEMATRIX I/O-Board

GM REL - GREEMATRIX Relay Board

The GREEMATRIX Relais-Board (GM REL) allows e. g. a supplementary line distribution

control in form as a DIN board sized for the quante wall distribution box.

The 8 relays GM REL card will be controled over an SUB-D 15 cable.

Up to 10 GM REL cards can be connected in cascade. By this way 80 supplementary

spaker lines can be realised an monitored over an LINEGUARD

GM TER - System Microphone for up to 80 freely selectable speaker zones.

GM TER is a microprocessor-controlled GREEMATRIX System microphone for

announcements into up to 80 selectable loudspeaker zones which are programmable via
the GREEMATRIX system.

Optimal speech intelligibility is guaranteed by a built-in, broadband preamplifier.

Operator-specific programming possible such as all-call , individual, group and

emergency announcements with the according priority level.

All keys and associated functions are programmable via GM BU.

The microphone capsule is monitored in accordance with DIN EN 60849 (VDE 0828).

The configuration of EVA 16 TER includes keys which are protected against accidental
misuse for safety-relevant system functions and a built-in, high-quality, two-line display to
allow checking of the current operating status as well as a panic button (WECP worst case
emergency paging) which is also access protected permits to establish a direct
microphone connection to all the connected amplifier (British security standard).

GM SYS 1 - System Microphone for calls in one/several freely selectable speaker

Prozessor controlled GREEMATRIX system microphone addressed to either one

predenfined single or to a group of zones in accordance with DIN EN 60849 (VDE 0828).

The paging configuration of the call funktion can be defined on an internal DIL switch.
