1.Discuss your argument: the advantages and disadvantages of microbes in human?

DISADVANTAGE
1. Microorganisms cause infections and other noninfectious diseases
2. Harmless species may transmit or provide a reservoir of antibiotic resistance genes.
3. Microorganisms may cause pyrogenic reactions (fever) when introduced into the body
even in the absence of infection.
ADVANTAGE
1 Microorganisms are used in the manufacture of antibiotics, steroids, therapeutic enzymes,
polysaccharides, vaccines, and many products of recombinant DNA technology.
2. They are used in assays to measure antibiotic concentrations.
3. Microorganisms can be used as biological indicators of sterilization.

2. What are the careers in microbiology and to what extent they help society?
Microbiologists aim to answer many important global questions by understanding microbes.
They work in many places, from labs in universities, research institutes and industrial
companies, to investigating microbes in fieldwork. However knowledge of microbiology is not
just important for these careers. Microbiologists can also use their knowledge and skills in a
wide range of careers in industry (marketing, technical support and regulatory affairs)
education (teaching, museums and science centres), business (patent attorney or
accountant) and communications (public relations, journalism and publishing).

3.Microbes are vitally important to all life on Earth. As versatile organisms, they play a major
role in various biochemical processes such as biodegradation, biodeterioration, climate
change, food spoilage, epidemiology and biotechnology
