I have studied course modules on qualitative (data collection and analysis) and
quantitative (including regression analysis and generalized linear model)
research methodology and an optional module on Social Theories of Learning
and Research involving constructivism, discourse analysis, narrative analysis
and communities of practice theory.

Research Interest
My research Interest lies in the field of Cultural Historical Activity theory and theories of learning. I
have conducted researches on effective teaching skills and constructivist teaching approaches. My
future research plan is to investigate how social and cultural dimensions influence students and teachers
in classroom learning activities. My aim is to analyse learning activities as holistic situations
incorporating the social and cultural elements people bring along with them in the context.

• Co-authored “Ditio Prathomik Shiskha Unnoyan Karjokrom” (An Introduction to Primary
Education Development Programme – II) with Dr. Siddiqur Rahman, in Bangladesh Education

• Participated in a day long seminar titled Accelerating Digital Bangladesh organized by
Bangladesh Computer Council in June 2009.
• Presented keynote paper on Cultural Historical Activity theory at a seminar arranged by Social

• Attended a seminar on Discourse Analysis and Activity theory organized by Social Theories

Bangladesh’ in a seminar organized by Bangladesh Institute of International Strategic Studies
