Keyless entry Interior light on/off interlocking function

The following functions will operate when the lock

If doors are unlocked for approximately 30 seconds, they
will be locked automatically.
Caution:
・ When performing door lock operations
continuously using the remote controller key,
wait for at least 1 second before performing
the next locking or unlocking operation.
Remote controller key
The door can be locked or unlocked by operating the
button within 10 m (33 ft) around the vehicle. Only 1
remote controller can be used at a time. If 2 or more
remote controllers are operated at the same time, their
operation will be unstable due to radiowave interference.

Replacement of internal battery in remote controller key


1. Remove the key holder from the remote controller key.

Vehicle speed-sensitive door lock
To keep safety for driving, doors are locked automatically
when the vehicle speed exceeds 20 km/h even though the
doors are not locked by a driver. When the doors are
locked by the vehicle speed-sensitive door lock function,
the doors are unlocked when the key position is turned
OFF or pull out the key after parking the vehicle.
However, this function can be disabled with the scan tool.
When changing the setting with a scan tool, follow the
procedure below.
1. Connect a scan tool to the DLC.
2. Turn ON the ignition switch.
3. Select the Diagnostics.
4. Select the Body.
5. Select the BCM.
6. Select Programming & Resetting.
7. Select BCM Data Setting/Change.

Power window timer
The power window timer function enables to open or
close power windows within 45 seconds after the starter
switch is turned off. The BCM measures 45 seconds, and
instructs the power window control unit to stop the power
window motor operation. When any door is opened
within 45 seconds, the BCM also instructs the power
window control unit to stop the power window motor
operation.
Self-diagnosis function
The self-diagnosis function of the BCM is set to the main
body of the BCM. If each function of the BCM does not
operate correctly, it performs trouble diagnosis and sets
DTCs.

2. Diagnostic system check-body controls inspection

・ If the fuse is found to be open, replace it.

short circuit.
3. If a problem is found, repair the circuit.

11. If the test light turns on, turn the ignition switch
OFF.
12. Inspect the BCM harness connector for a contact
failure.
13. If a problem is found, repair the harness connector.
14. If the test light does not turn on, inspect the circuit
between the IG1 40 A fuse and the BCM.
Note:
・ There should be no open circuit or high
resistance.

・ DTC B3095 has not been detected.
29. If a DTC has been detected, go to the applicable
DTC diagnosis.
30. Use a scan tool to confirm the Anti Theft Horn
display.
Note:
・ The display should coincide with the switch
ON and OFF operations.
31. When the display is not properly shown, inspect the
circuit between the anti theft alarm and the BCM.
Note:
・ There should be no open circuit or high
resistance.
32. If a problem is found, repair the circuit.
33. If a problem is not found, inspect the anti theft alarm.

34. If a problem is found, replace it.

35. If a problem is not found, replace the BCM.
36C-6 Functional Inspection (All models)

Keyless entry system check


1. Keyless entry system check description of function
The BCM is equipped with the keyless entry function.
Note:
・ Lock and unlock functions by remote controller
operation
・ Remote controller key registration function
・ Answer-back function
・ Interior light ON/OFF interlocking function
2. Keyless entry system check inspection
1. Perform the inspection for the body control system.
2. Use a scan tool to confirm if a DTC has been
detected.
3. If a DTC has been detected, go to the applicable
DTC diagnosis.
4. If a DTC has not been detected, go to the applicable
symptom diagnosis.

・ There should be no open circuit or high
resistance.
・ There should be no short circuit with metal
components such as a frame.
8. Inspect the ground circuit between the anti theft
indication light and the frame ground.
Note:
・ There should be no open circuit or high
resistance.
9. If a problem is found, repair the circuit.
10. If a problem is not found, replace the BCM.

11. Write the vehicle information into the BCM.

12. Turn the starter switch to "ACC".
36C-8 Functional Inspection (All models)

Door open warning light Inoperative

1. DTC B0283 description of DTC
When the rear defogger switch is pressed, the rear
defogger relay is driven. After a certain period of time
has passed, the rear defogger relay is turned OFF. After a

current.

The BCM sets the DTC when it detects an overcurrent in
the rear defogger relay output circuit while the rear

1. DTC B3095 description of DTC
When the doors and the engine hood of the vehicle are
locked, the antitheft system is designed to protect the
vehicle and valuables from robbery.
When forcibly opening any door, the tailgate or the
engine hood without using the vehicle key or the remote
controller key is attempted, the BCM performs the drive
control of blinking the hazard lights and sounding the
horn intermittently.
2. DTC B3095 condition for setting the DTC
The BCM sets the DTC when it detects an overcurrent in
the antitheft horn and indicator output circuits while the
antitheft horn output and indicator output are ON.

1. DTC B3100 description of DTC

and sends the serial data messages to the BCM to perform
the requested function.

1. DTC B316A description of DTC
Open and close of the power window are available within
45 seconds after the starter switch is turned OFF. The
BCM counts 45 seconds, and commands the power
window control unit to stop the operation of the power
window motor. Also, when any of the doors is opened
within 45 seconds, the BCM commands the power
window control unit to stop the operation of the power
window motor in the same manner.

The BCM sets the DTC when it detects an overcurrent in
the power window output circuit while the power window
output is ON.

CAN Bus Communication Malfunction
1. DTC U0073 description of DTC
The EHCU, ECM, TCM, TCCM, automatic A/C control
unit, SRS control unit, ICU, BCM, meter, DRM
communicate the control information and diagnosis
information via CAN communication. The BCM
monitors the CAN operational status by expecting a
constant message flow from each module. The BCM sets
the DTC when any abnormality is detected in CAN
communication circuit.

DTC B3095
Anti-Theft Horn Drive Circuit Malfunction
1. DTC B3095 diagnostics
1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
2. Inspect the circuit between the anti theft horn and
BCM.
Note:
・ There should not be a short to the power
supply circuit.
3. If a problem is found, repair the circuit.
4. Turn ON the ignition switch.
5. Clear the DTC with the scan tool.
6. Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds.
7. Turn ON the ignition switch.
8. Using the scan tool, verify whether DTCs have been
detected.
9. Observe the Anti Theft Horn display on a scan tool.
Note:
・ Displays should coincide with the switch on/off
operations.
10. If a DTC is detected or the Anti Theft Horn display
is not properly displayed, replace the BCM.

11. Write the vehicle information in the BCM.

4. Turn ON the ignition switch.

6. Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds.
7. Turn ON the ignition switch.

detected.
9. Use a scan tool to confirm the Door Unlock motor
display.
Note:

10. If a DTC is detected or the Door Unlock motor

Power Window Timer Circuit Malfunction
1. DTC B316A diagnostics

control unit and BCM.

3. If a problem is found, repair the circuit.
4. Turn ON the ignition switch.
5. Clear the DTC with the scan tool.
6. Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds.
7. Turn ON the ignition switch.
8. Using the scan tool, verify whether DTCs have been
detected.
9. Use a scan tool to confirm the Power window timer
setting display.
Note:
・ Displays should coincide with the switch on/off

10. If a DTC is detected or the Power window timer
setting display is not properly shown, replace the
BCM.
