Sub: Details of vacancies/pending promotion existing on 30.06.2020

The Additional Secretary, DOP&T vide her D.O. No.36012/11/2016-

Estt(Res.1) dated 28.07.2020 stated that twin issue of ‘Reservation in
promotion’ and ‘own merit in promotion’ is sub judice before the Hon’ble
Supreme Court in the SLP No. 36021/2011 titled Jarnail Singh & Others v.s
Lachhmi Narain Gupta & Ors.

An IA No. 53895/2020 , filed in June ,2020 in the above matter, came up

for hearing on 22.07.2020 before the Hon’ble Supreme Court and the Hon’ble
Court directed as under:

“Let the instant application for clarification be considered at the time of

final disposal of the main matter(s).
List the main matter along with all connected matters after four weeks for
final disposal”.

In connection with above matter, DOP&T has sought latest vacancy

position as on 30.06.2020 in proforma given below.
