This experiment aims to compare the concentration of alcohol in wine and rum. The experiment involves adding calcium to samples of wine and rum, which will produce hydrogen gas through a chemical reaction. The volume of hydrogen gas produced will be measured every 10 minutes for an hour, and recorded in a table. It is predicted that the wine will produce more hydrogen gas since wine has a higher alcohol concentration than rum. The results will help determine if the alcohol concentration is greater in wine compared to rum.

HYPOTHESIS: The alcohol in wine is more concentrated
than the alcohol in rum therefore the wine is stronger so you will get intoxicated quicker . AIM: To compare the concentration of alcohol in the wine and rum APPARATUS: wine, rum, timer, conical flask, scale, gas syringe, measuring apparatus REAGENTS: Wine, Rum, calcium[s] METHOD: 1. Measure 100ml of wine and pour into a conical flask. 2. Weigh 5g of calcium (Ca) using the scale. 3. Add the 5 g of Ca in the wine 4. Place a graduated gas syringe on the conical flask 5. Record the values every 10 mins for 1 hour. 6. make a table and graph showing amount of hydrogen produced. 7. Repeat steps using the rum. :

PREDICTED RESULTS: The wine will produce more hydrogen gas than the rum because the wine has a higher concentration of alcohol than the rum. DISCUSSION: :
This experiment is to determine whether the concentration of
alcohol in wine is greater than the amount of alcohol present in rum. Discussion What is the experiment about? What is the chemical substance that you investigating? What is the reaction involved? List any equations Explain all possible outcomes
SOURCES OF ERROR:
Not measuring the wine and rum at eye level
taking values at the wrong time ??
not measuring the wine and rum equally ?? using unequal amounts of calcium in the wine and rumX
Nowhere have you mentioned the active ingredient in alcohol/
