INSTALLATION ​INSTRUCTIONS 
INSTALLATION: 

Download  and  install  our  download  utility  (found  in  the email you received from us). We offer both PC and MAC versions of 

the download tool. 

1. Enter the ENTIRE serial code (found in the email you received from us) 

2. The download utility will automatically download and install your library. 

3. The library can be found through the regular browser in Kontakt.  

TROUBLESHOOTING DOWNLOADS: 

The  download  utility  should  generally  work  for  all  download  purposes,  however  please  use  our  manual  download  links  if 
you  encounter  any  issues.  The  manual  download  links  are  generally  slower  downloads,  but  allows  you  to  download  the 
compressed library files (.rar compression) through your browser. You can access the manual download links here:

OVERVIEW 
 

Our  Legion  Series  is  a  collection  of  Super  Cinematic  Ensembles  including  our  66-Basses,  66-Trombones  and 
now  our  groundbreaking  66-Trombones.  This  instrument  line  is dedicated to solving specific needs in modern 
epic cinematic music. 

Legion  Series:  66-Trombones  is  a  never-before  sampled  ensemble  of  symphonic  trombones,  feel  the  ground 
shake beneath your feet with the raw sound of its sound. 

The  library,  recorded  in  our  favorite  oval-shaped  concert  hall  “Zlin”  is  designed  to  beautifully  blend  with  our 
other  Legion  Series  to  create  an  unstoppable  wall  of  sound.  With  the  sheer  size  of  this  ensemble,  the  lower 
dynamics  are  incredibly  detailed  and  perfectly  balanced,  even  while  playing  quietly,  you  can  hear  the  clear 
rumble and destructive force this ensemble possesses. 

Legion  Series  66-Trombones  is  an  incredibly  versatile  library  with  its  rich  and  warm  legatos,  a  large  and 
colorful  low-end,  bright  ff  sustains,  punchy  shorts  and  FX.  ‘Epic’  is  the  only  word  you  need  to  describe  this 
masterpiece. 

 
 

   
 

PATCHES    CC ​LIST 
66  Trombones  is  offered  in  several  different  CC 1 -​ ​Dynamics (when available) 
patches,  each  one  with  different  CC 11 - ​Expression 
characteristics. 

First  of  all,  every  patch  with  every 

articulation  can  be  loaded  either  with  the  WARNING 
classical  4  microphone  positions  (​MIX​, 
Decca​,  ​Wide​,  ​Far),  ​a  punchy  mix  for  ​Trailers  Because  TMPro  uses  such  a  heavy  algorithm,  and 
or  exclusively  with  5  Spot  Mic  positions  although  we’ve  decided  to  make  all  the  patches 
(​leftmost​,  ​left​,  ​middle​,  ​right​,  ​rightmost​) for a TMPro-compatible (so as to be future-proof), loading 
more directional type of sound.  several  mics  and/or  FX  on  a  TMPro  patch  might
cause  some  artifacts  depending  on  your  system 
Additional  to that, every patch is available in  specs. So chose wisely, TM2 offers the same benefits 
DFD  ​version  (for  quicker  loading  times  and of  TMPro  (except the ‘reverse’ button) and it is much 
less  CPU  demand),  ​TM2  ​version  (for  more relaxed.

ARTICULATIONS 
66-Trombones  contains  a  large  set  of  common  articulations  including  nine  different  types  of  sustains, 
four  different  styles  of  natural  legatos  and  nine  different  ranges  of  dynamic  arcs,  all  extending  from 
soft  and  delicate  to  earth-shakingly loud. We also included aggressive and punchy staccatos, which can 
be  either  one-shot  or  rhythmically  synced.  With  an  ensemble  this size, we also wanted to capture a set 
of  unique  articulations  including  massive  bends,  rips,  and  crescendos,  as  well  as  different  styles  of 
clusters and arcs.

MAIN UI CONTROLS​ ​- FOOTER 

Legion  Trombones  contains  a  footer  for  quick  controls.  ​Attack  ​and  ​Release  ​intensity  can  be  easily  accessible  as  well  as  sample 
speed​* (+/- 50%).  

Additional to that, a ​Pitch Envelope ​and a ​Glide ​dial work together for creating artificial risers/drops. 

An  ​Offset  ​dial  is  also  available*  for  controlling  the  sample  start.  When  the  ​RND  ​button  is  pressed,  the  sample  will  randomly  start 
from 0 to the position of the Offset dial 

All  the  articulations  can  also  be  ​reversed*  ​and  ​stacked  ​by  using  the  buttons  and  finally,  every  single  enabled  effect along with the 
footer can be randomised by using the ​CHAOS ​button.

MAIN UI CONTROLS​ ​- SEQUENCER 
 

 
 

Legion Trombones contains a sequencer designed to offer quick ways for arpeggio building.  

The ​main screen ​of the sequencer allows the user to control the velocity of each of the hits. 

By using the ​HITS ​control, each of the hits will be repeated before going to the next hit. 

The  ​STEPS  ​control  can  increase  or  decrease  the  amount  of  steps  available  on  the  sequencer.  Any  number  from  2  to  32  steps  is 
available. 

The ​RATE ​controls the speed at which the sequencer moves, always in sync with the DAW. 

SWING ​control allows the user to add or remove time every two hits so as to create swing syncopation. 

Finally, there are 15 ​patterns ​available in which the sequencer moves. 

To ​disable ​the sequencer, set the pattern to ​BYPASSED 

When enabled (i.e. not BYPASSED), the CHAOS button on the footer will also randomise it. 
 
 

 
 

MAIN UI CONTROLS​ ​- SEQUENCER 

The  mixer  offers  quick  access  to  all  the  microphone  positions  available  in  a  patch.  Each  channel  contains  a  ​volume  ​control,  ​pan 
control, ​solo ​and ​mute ​buttons and finally, a ​purge ​button to load-unload the microphone. 

 
MAIN UI CONTROLS​ ​- EFFECTS 

 
For Legion Trombones we have created a brand-new way of dealing with sound effects by using XY pads. 

Legion Trombones contains 4 pads, each one with its independent FX control (in addition to the CHAOS effects) 

First,  to  enable  a  pad,  an  ON/OFF  button  has  to  be  toggled  on.  Once  on,  the  CHAOS  button  on  the  footer 
will also randomise the selected effect. 

There are three types of ​filters ​and nine different ​effects ​that can be assigned in each of the pads. 

Once  an  effect  has  been  loaded,  each  of the ​X ​and ​Y ​sections of the pads 

can also be manually assigned to any control of the loaded effect. 

Once  the  X  and  Y  are  assigned  to  a  control,  they  can  be  manipulated  by 
playing with the ​pad​. 

Right-clicking the X or Y label allows the user to assign the pad to a MIDI CC. 
 

   
Each  of  the  pads  has  an  “​intensity​”  dial  to  control  how  much  of  the  effect  is  applied.  
   

Additional  to  that,  some  of  the  effects  have  a  secondary  setting.  In  the  case  of  the  transform,  an  impulse  can be loaded and in the 
case of delay, a rate (tempo synced to the DAW) can be assigned.  
 

When an FX is enabled, the CHAOS button on the footer will also randomise it. 
 
 

MAIN UI CONTROLS​ ​- MODULATION 

 

 
 

On the modulation page, three controls are accessible. 

Expression ​controls such as ​Dynamics​* (CC1) and ​Expression ​(CC11) can be manipulated and linked. 

A ​GATE ​has also been added with intensity and rate controls. 

Finally, the library can also be ​tuned ​up or down both ​chromatically ​(-12 semitones to +12 semitones) and ​freely​.

Blue ​= Normal range of the Trombones. 

Green ​= Extended range for additional notes.

CHAOS ​EFFECTS 
 

The Effects Engine is perhaps our 

most elaborate feature. 
We wanted to take the concept of 
chance and extreme tweakability and 
port it to our user-interface. 
 

EFFECTS 
The  Effects  page  consists  of  multiple rack effects. 
The  Chaos  4  system  allows  you  to  create  your 
own  effect  chains  and  even  more  -  to  use  the 
same effect multiple times. 

Just  click  the  effect  title  and  choose  what  you 

want  in  a  dropdown  menu.  What  if  you  apply  5 
Transform  instances  on  top  of  a  Degrader?  You 
are welcome to discover it. 

 
 

FILTER  ​controls  an  independant  LOW  PASS  ​and  ​HIGH PASS ​filter. These smooth filters can be directly controlled by the interface, or 

by  the  included  sequencer.  You  can  even  automate  either  lowpass  or  highpass  filter  with  it.  And  of  course,  you  can  hit  ​CHAOS  ​in 
order to randomise every relevant parameter. 

The  ​SEQ  ​page  consists  of  the  ​LPF  and  ​HPF  buttons  which  allow  you  to  choose  which  filter  type  is controlled by the sequencer. We 
also  included  ​RATE  ​which  adjusts  the  speed  of  the  sequence  remaining  synced  to  your  host  tempo.  ​STEPS  ​which  adjusts  the 
available amount of steps in the Sequencer and ​ON NOTE​ which will restart the sequence upon every new note played. 

 
 

EQ  ​controls  a  3  band  Equaliser,  we  have  included  a  handful  of  useful  presets  to  help  you  in  sculpting  your  sound.  We  also  have 
included  a  ​CHAOS  ​control,  this  allows  you  to  randomise  every  value,  which  is  extremely  useful  for carving out new and interesting 
sounds.  

DEGRADER  ​consists  of  a  ​BIT  CRUSHER  and  a  ​DISTORTION  ​unit. Of course we also have included a ​CHAOS ​control, which allows you 

to randomise every value, which is extremely useful for carving out new and interesting sounds.  

The  ​SEQ  page  contains  a  sequencer  which  is  pretty  similar  to  the  one  in  Filters.  The  sequencer  is  able  to  control  either  ​RATE  or 
DRIVE​ with various ​RATE​ and ​STEPS​ of the sequence. It is also able to be restarted ​ON NOTE​. 
  

DELAY  ​consists  of  2  sequential  delays,  this  allows  you  to  build  complex  rhythms  and  sequences  by  simply  using  different  time 
values.  Each delay has a wet ​MIX ​parameter, a tempo synced ​TIME ​control, and ​FEEDBACK ​and ​PAN ​controls to help control the style 
and  power  of  the  delay.  And,  you  guessed  it,  we  included  a  ​CHAOS  ​control,  so  you are able to randomise every relevant parameter, 
creating  some  truly  amazing  delay  patterns.  Both delays and the filters also work intelligently, meaning if you are not using them or 
they are set to a minimal value, they will bypass themselves in order to save your CPU load.  

TRANSFORM  ​contains  a  powerful  impulse  convolution  with  some  truly  strange  and wonderful presets. To change what convolution 
is  loaded,  simply  select  the  preset  dropdown  menu,  and  load  any  of  our  hand  designed  impulse  responses.  From  fog  horns,  to  car 
crashes,  engine  revs  to  world ending drones, we have included a handful of our favourite custom recorded and designed presets and 
our  beloved  Textural  Delays.  If  you  are  feeling  indecisive,  you  can  also  select  the  ​CHAOS  ​control,  which  will  randomly  assign  a 
preset for you, as well as alter the available controls for some truly esoteric results. The included controls can help you further shape 
the  convolution,  such  as  ​MIX  ​which  alters  the  wet  value  of  the  insert,  ​SIZE  ​which stretches or compresses the impulse, ​PRE-DELAY 
which  adds  a  small  delay  before  the  impulse  is  triggered,  and  of  course  a  ​HIGH  ​and  ​LOW  PASS  FILTER​,  which  allows you to shape 
the frequency of the impulse convolution layer. 
  

REVERB  ​contains  a  powerful convolution reverb partnered with a digital reverb. To change what convolution is loaded, simply select 

the  preset  dropdown  menu,  and  load  any  of  our  custom  recorded  impulse  responses.  We  have  included  a  variety,  of  real  acoustic 
spaces  we  use and love, such as recording studios, churches, cathedrals and halls. As well as a few not so acoustic spaces we equally 
love.  
This  is  a  great  tool  for  quickly  placing  your  sound  in  designed  space.  Or  of  course  you  can  select  the  ​CHAOS  ​control  and  let  the 
engine do the choosing for you. The included controls are similar as to the ​TRANSFORM ​module. 

PHASER  controls  the  dual ​Phaser and Flanger module. Allowing you to modulate and move and sound source passed through it. ​MIX 

controls  the  volume  of  the  processed  audio  (Dry/Wet)  whereas  ​DEPTH  allows  you  to  control  the  amount  or  strength of the applied 
modulation.  ​SPEED  controls  the  frequency  of  the  modulation.  ​COLOR  controls  the  tone of the applied modulation, and ​FEED allows 
you  to  adjust  the  feedback  within  the  ​Flanger  portion  of  the  module.  We  also  have  included  a  ​CHAOS  control,  this  allows  you  to 
randomise every value, which is extremely useful for creating out new and interesting sounds.
