Assignment 1

1. Download weather file (epw) from

(https://energyplus.net/weather-region/asia_wmo_region_2/IND) and open in
climate consultant.
2. All students should select a different city. No marks if done with same city
3. Mention the different climate variables that are listed in the epw files
4. Observe and comment on overall temperatures, diurnal temperature range, solar
radiation, sky cover, wind speed wind direction and naturally comfortable hours.
5. Based on above comment on the overall requirements of the city for achieving
comfort i.e., heating, cooling, dehumidification, both heating and cooling, cooling
and dehumidification, etc.
6. Identify the climate zone of the selected city and mention the passive strategies that
will work in this city.

Please submit a 3-page report summarizing the above.
