T EACHING V ISION

I want to pursue my career path in a research university where research and teaching go hand
in hand. Through continuous investigations in my research area, I enjoy creating knowledge.
Teaching and advising are an integral part of being a faculty member. I have formal teaching
experience from my master’s level as an assistant professor and as teaching assistant during my
masters and Ph.D. The previous experience and engagement with course instructor in designing
course content, delivering content lectures, laboratory courses, and development of laboratory
work plan will be used to shape new teaching opportunities and innovative learning techniques.
Starting as a newly joined junior faculty member, I will try to explore some introductory courses
and design a course related to my research interests. I believe that studying the subjects related to
photovoltaic cells, solar cells and material science for low cost and green energy requirement from
beginner to advance level can benefit students in their personal and career growth. My role as an
instructor will not focus only on covering book contents but also on developing a sense of
understanding behind the need and possibilities to contribute to scientific studies by gaining and
implementing practical knowledge about the subject. As an instructor of a research lab, guiding and
mentoring students and researchers will be my most important role. The research lab will be an
effective tool for learning new ideas and tackling problems in the real world for research; I see it as
my role to instill good scientific practices and support research activities. My part will guide
experimental design, data acquisition, model development, and hardware implementation. A
scientific discussion will be held on time among undergraduate, master, PhD, and post-docs to
foster a culture that values interdisciplinary scientific inquiry and critical thinking.
As an effective mentor and teacher, I want my students to feel self-confident that they have the
skills, strategies, and ability to tackle messy, incomplete, tricky, and real problems. I aim to pro-
vide problem-solving, logical, team-based, and individual thought while applying learned scientific
methods to generate and test a hypothesis. In addition, I plan to deliver talks by scientists and re-
searchers from industries and academia to explore new opportunities and challenges of real-world
problems in existing healthcare technologies. Apart from core course content, my student will de-
velop and learn essential skills for a successful engineer, academia, and personal life. Through the
courses my students will be able to

1. Solve real-world problems as an independent individual and as a team through creative as-
signments and quizzes.
2. Formulate and express ideas both verbally and in writing.
3. Develop confidence and flexibility in solving unknown and complex problems.
4. Question, interpret, and critique learned scientific work during the course.
5. Conduct research that benefits the academic and professional communities and the public at
large, including the environment.
6. Present their applied skills on assignment and make oral presentations about their under-
standing and learning.

In addition, I express my interest in contributing to the academic community at my department by

guiding students, designing course curricula, establishing a research group, and organizing various
workshops, expert talks, and conferences within my research area.
