Introduction
A computer network is a collection of computers that share resources that are
offered by or placed on network nodes.
Digital interconnects, which are used by computers to communicate with one
another, are made up of telecommunication network technologies based on
optical, wireless radio frequency, and physically wired ways that can be set up in
different network topologies.
A computer network is made up of several parts, such as connectors,
hub/switches, routers, PCs, servers, firewalls, etc.
This report details how I performed a lab task, the difficulties I encountered, and
how I overcame those difficulties.
This lab 3 did with CISCO packet tracer.

Discussion

• A copper cross-over cable is used in the first task to link the computers with the
IP addresses 192.168.10.2 and 192.168.10.3, respectively.
• For the second task, a switch was connected to a computer that had been given
the IP addresses 192.168.10.2, 192.168.10.3, and 192.168.10.4, respectively.
• In the third task, a copper straight-through connection is used to link a PC with
the IP addresses 192.168.10.2, 192.168.10.3, 192.168.10.4, and a printer with the
IP address 192.168.10.5 to a switch.
• For the fourth task, the PC connected to the switch was given the IP addresses
192.168.10.2, 192.168.10.3, and 192.168.10.4.
An internal router and the switch are linked together via a cooper straight-through
wire.
Copper cross-over cable links the internal router to the ISP router.
Through a cooper straight-through cable, the server and ISP router are linked.
• For the fifth task, the PC connected to the switch was given the IP addresses
192.168.10.2, 192.168.10.3, 192.168.10.4, and 192.168.10.5.
An internal router and the switch are linked together via a cooper straight-through
wire.
The cooper straight-through wire connects the internal router to the fire wall.
A copper straight-through connection links the ISP router and the fire wall.
Through a cooper straight-through cable, the server and ISP router are linked.
• The switch is connected to the PCs with the IP addresses 192.168.10.2,
192.168.10.3, 192.168.10.4, and 192.168.10.5 given to Lan 1.

The switch is connected to the PCs with the IP addresses 192.168.20.2,
192.168.20.3, and 192.168.20.4 allocated to Lan 2. The R1 router is linked to both
switches. The console cable is used to link the R1 router to the pc.
• "Cisco Packet Tracer" was the network simulator we utilized to complete this lab
test.
• We encountered some issues when configuring the router on the computer using
the command prompt.
Explanation from the lab sheet learn and comprehend router configuration via the
command prompt on a computer.
• Through this lab session, I learnt the fundamentals of networking, including the
various cables and when they are used, what a computer network is, how to build
one, and how to test it.
