Biograpy
He was known as the father of nature cure in India
Born: 1879 at pudukottai,tamilnadu, to krishnaswamy Iyer and thulasi Iyer
He began his career as a civil lawyer for the government in pudukottai
He was a doctor and also a editor of life’s natural magazine
In response to call from Mahatma Gandhi,he gave up his private legal practice and withdrew his children
from govt schools admitting them instead into an Indian gurukulam
He was suffering from a disease called dyspepsia

After the death of subrahmanya Aiyar he moved with his family to pondicherry
In pondicherry he began to resea6and publish his works on nature cure and began to visit his guru,Sri
Ramana maha Rishi,at thiruvannamalai

In 1930 and 1950’s Lakshmana sarma made attempts to explain and summarise his guru’s teachings
into two more treaties: Maha yoga in English a Sanskrit work of over 700 verses called Sri Ramana

He was a pioneer of nature cure movement
He laid the foundation of scientific nature cure in 1913 by curing himself
He was the founder of nature cure sanatorium and institutions and author of his research results

He was the author of mahayoga
He invented spinal bath tub in 1925 a remarkable tool for curing insomnia and toning the entire nervous
system

At this time he had better opportunity to work on thermodynamics and hemodynamic – the effect of hot
and cold which leads to vaso constriction and vaso dilation
He wrote many books like pranayam or breathing for better health. One of his famous book titled as
practical nature cure is being taught as a text book for naturopathy course
He spread this science for around 50 years till 1965
Death and legacy
He passed away on May 3 1965 after several months of reduced consumption of food and eventually
not eating
His legacy in the field of nature cure was carried forward by his sons
