MANUAL PIPETTE
Prepare all materials a. Place the test tubes on the test tube rack
b. Place enough amount of water in the beaker
c. Place the serological pipette and bulb at a safe area

Proper use of bulb for aspiration of liquid a. Bulb was pressed before placing above the pipette
b. Bulb was placed properly above the pipette
c. No bubbles were formed in the beaker while aspirating
d. Liquid did not go directly inside the bulb

Proper use of pipette a. Pipette is in vertical, upright position while aspirating


b. Tip of the pipette is immersed properly in the liquid
c. Water level in the pipette is in lower meniscus
d. Made sure that the liquid is at zero marking before dispensing

Proper dispensing of liquid a. Bulb was removed and replaced by the finger to cover the top of the
pipette

Proper use of pipette a. Adjust the pipettor for aspirating the desired volume
b. Correctly load the tip into the pipette

Proper aspiration of liquid a. Pipette is in vertical, upright position while aspirating
