Republic Act No. 7836 also known as the Teachers Professionalization
Act of 1994 provides that the examination for teachers in the elementary
level shall consist of two (2) parts, namely: professional education and
general education. The examination for teachers in the secondary level shall
consist of three (3) parts, namely: professional education, general education,
and field of specialization.
The Professional Regulation Commission reported that out of the
79,212 passers, 18,409 are elementary teachers and 60,803 are secondary
teachers. Of the elementary teachers, 17,200 are first-timers while 1,209
are repeaters. For secondary teachers, 52,453 are first timers and 8,350 are
repeaters. A total of 90,750 examinees took the exam for elementary
teachers while 126,582 for secondary.
Tens of thousands of professional teachers have used the first
volume of the Yellow Book and have attested to its usefulness that includes
relevant and latest concepts that have helped them in acing the let. And
because of the big success of the first edition of the “Yellow Book”, Dr. Carl
Balita Review Center introduces Yellow Book version 2.0!
This book includes major topics on Professional Education including
Assessment of Learning, Curriculum Development, Educational Technology,
Developmental Reading, Teaching Profession, Social Dimensions of
Education, Principles of Teaching, Child and Adolescent Development, and
Facilitating Learning, and General Education including English, Social Science,

This book is designed to help aspiring teachers in preparing for the
LET. This includes more than a thousand of questions, mostly patterned
with latest board questions. The questions are followed by only two options
for better retention and mastery. The book also includes recall questions

This Yellow Book version 2.0 coupled hardwork, determination, and faith in
God will surely make wonders in helping you and your dreams to become
one!PREPARING FOR THE BOARD EXAM
A TOPNOTCHER’S TIPS TO TOP THE LET
Taking the board exam can be stressful, a bit frustrating but a life-changing
opportunity not only for you but also for the people around you. Taking the board
exam is hard work and it needs commitment, passion and patience...unending
patience.
Passing the board exam is already a reward, but topping it is another story! A lot of
people ~ my family, CBRC, friends, and God Almighty have helped me achieve my
wildest dream, and now it’s my turn to help dreamers be one with their dreams.
Here is my recipe in topping the board exam, the SLIP method:
STRATEGY
Always remember that you can’t go in a battle without the proper tools to defeat
your foe, the same is true with the board exam. You can’t overcome it unless you
know it! Before taking the boards, you need strategize — meaning you need to know
your strengths and weaknesses, One subject is enough to pull your score down, you
can’t let that happen! So as early as now, assess yourself. Concentrate more on the
things you are having difficulty with and love these subjects. Maintain your strength
and develop your weaknesses.
Part of strategizing is proper preparation. Feed not only your intellect, but also be
emotionally, mentally and spiritually healthy. Also, set a goal. And when you set a
goal make sure that it’s high enough to bring shivers down your spine (Kanyan-
kanyang trip lang yan!) Set a goal to top the board exam. Think about this everyday
and your mind will control your efforts — effort pang topnotcher.
LOGIC
In taking the board exam, it is not actually how much you know but how much of
what you know is relevant. Remember that the board is a 300-item or a 450-item
exam, it is impossible for them to ask all the concepts in that exam. Be familiar with
the board concepts and board questions. That is why it is a must that your practice
answering questions. Be patient in answering questions. Each day you need to
make that you have answered ample amount of questions (like 50 or 100 items per
day). Through this, you can also master testmanship, which is a very important skill
in taking the board exam.
Read — Review — Answer — Repeat!INSTINCT
Did you ever experience changing your answer just to find out that your first answer
is the correct answer?! Well, you are not alone, | experience that all the time!
There are questions in the board that you will have a hard time answering. This will
consume your time and make you more anxious. You can let this happen because
you might not be able to finish the exam on time. So if in case this happens, just
remember trust your first instinct! This way, you’re saving time and avoiding erasures
too.
PUSO
Put your heart in whatever you do, (Pusuan mo ang board exam!) Keep yourself
motivated and learn to sacrifice. Reviewing for the boards will consume too much
of your time — instead of you going out with your friends or family, you’re stuck in
the center reviewing (Nilamon na ng board exam!). But | tell you, all these sacrifices
will all be worth it in the end! If we put our hearts in whatever we do, things get
easier, things get lighter.
The journey in topping the boards is not easy, but it will be worth it! Start reviewing
early and end it with a bang!LET YELLOWBOOK 2ND EDITION
