Picture #1: The child asks her grandfather1

The questions have been part of my life, it is rooted in every human being thus far.
Existing as you, questions always have an area/space as human beings endeavor in
their different paths. The moment when a person asks a question, he/she listens
carefully to the answer. If we look at the scenario of this above picture, we could
somehow formulate an idea about the relationship between the grandfather as the
“Employer” and the child as the “Employee”. There is a discrepancy in both the
employer and the employee, sometimes the employer can do what an employee can’t
do, plus experience is a great advantage. What is the most important here upon
acquiring knowledge? You become a slave in acquiring knowledge, you become great
when you share the knowledge with the fools yet you still be a slave when you
encounter elders until you live your life in excess of to the people who are your source
of knowledge for indeed, wisdom comes from age. It is what it is, my personal
experience in acquiring knowledge, to cure my ignorance. Sometimes I am that person
who is afraid to ask questions, I’m afraid of being humiliated just because perhaps the
question that I raised is lack of analysis and has no sense, true there were times like this
and many times also my questions do make sense. It really needs to have a mood of

inquiry, setting the self to a so-called war of ideas. The lack of relevant information or
knowledge is also a valid reason why a person asks. The attitude of being a “slave”
though totally not, just to gather relevant datum. Becoming a master, especially when
facing “fools” and sharing what has been gathered information is a sign of relief ideas
are exposed. To be great one must live, one must engage in anything. For me, the best
engagement so far in becoming great is when you accept slavery for the sake of others
and for the sake of yourself. To be a slave just to inquire about knowledge is not
unbecoming, it is worthy of praise instead.
