Yaya Nurmadina. The Effect of Economic Growth and Unemployment on Poverty

Levels in Makassar City.

This study aims to determine the Effect of Economic Growth and

Unemployment on Poverty Levels in Makassar City. To achieve this goal, the
implementation of the research uses a quantitative research approach. Collecting data
using secondary data obtained from the Office of the Central Bureau of Statistics
Makassar City. The population and sample in this study are economic growth,
unemployment and poverty levels. In this case, using a sample of the last 10 years,
namely from 2011-2020, it is declared valid and reliable because it is secondary data,
it has also been tested for classical assumptions in the form of normality test,
heteroscedasticity test and multicollinearity test. Multiple linear regression technique.
The results showed that economic growth had a negative and insignificant effect on
the level of poverty and unemployment had a negative and insignificant effect on the
level of poverty in Makassar City.
