1. Scale (Minor pentatonic)
There are many kinds of pentatonic scales. But, in this lesson, we will learn about the minor
pentatonic scale. This is one of the most common scales in rock, pop, blues etc.
We are going to play A Minor pentatonic . Follow the tab.

Now, Play it using all 6 strings. Like other scales, try to memorize the scale shape. It will help you
to play the same scale in defferent keys very easily.

Try to visualize the shape on the fretboard.

2. Chord Family
A chord family is a group of chords that shares notes from a single scale.
We will look at triads for now. In a major scale, there are 7 notes. So, our available chords will be:

1st = Major
2nd = Minor
3rd = Minor
4th = Major
5th = Major
6th = Minor
7th = Diminished

Based on previous the lessons, the chords will be:

4. Rest
When playing music, it’s essential to understand when to play, and when not to. Rest in music
tells us when not to play. It tells us about the pauses in music.
We have already learned about how to read the note lengths. Now we learn about the lengths
of pauses

We will see some examples in the “Strumming pattern” part.


5. Strumming pattern
Today’s strumming pattern will be based on pauses we just learned.
Follow the tab:

Pattern 1 : Pause sections where needed using your palm (picking hand).
