National Development Council in indian polioty

The National Development Council (NDC) was an apex body of the Government of India, which was
set up to coordinate and review the development plans of the country. The NDC was established in
1952 and was dissolved in 2015 after the Planning Commission was replaced by the NITI Aayog.

The NDC was chaired by the Prime Minister of India and consisted of the Chief Ministers of all the
states and Union Territories, as well as members of the Planning Commission, Union Cabinet
Ministers, and other officials. The NDC met periodically to discuss the country's development plans
and to review the progress made in implementing them.

The main functions of the NDC were:

1. To approve the Five Year Plans and Annual Plans of the country.
2. To review the progress of development projects and programs implemented by the government.
3. To coordinate the efforts of the central and state governments in the development of the country.
4. To review the allocation of resources between the central and state governments.
5. To discuss any other matter related to the development of the country.

The NDC played a crucial role in the development of the country by bringing together the central
and state governments and facilitating coordination between them. It provided a platform for the
exchange of ideas and experiences between the different levels of government and helped in the
formulation of policies and programs for the country's development.
