Statement of Purpose

I have always been a dreamer with a mission to catapult my ambition into a reality. The will to
make it big in life is an innate trait I possess and this is the trigger towards a successful future. I
aspire to bring about a revolutionary change in the field of Biotechnology through my able
efforts and my sphere of knowledge.
A good student academically, I pursued Non Medical after my Class 10 and went on to graduate
in Pharmacy with distinction. My graduation has been done from one of the best Pharmacy
institutes in North India. I also underwent training in Quality control and production department
of Franklin Laboratories (India) Pvt Ltd from June to July 2016 and a project on “TLC
Fingerprinting of Allium Cepa Stem Extracts” during my final year of graduation.
With this as a foundation, I decided to pursue Biotechnology Advanced Fast Track program from
Centennial College in Canada. The Biotechnology program which I intend to do cover a range of
topics related to the biological techniques, pharmaceutical microbiology, food chemistry and
biochemistry. Biotechnology applications, microbial genetics, clinical and environmental
microbiology are other areas that will be given impetus.
I would be exposed to the processes involved in isolation, enumeration and identification of
micro organisms from many types of samples. Further, the most important being the perfection
of asceptic techniques and usage of micro organisms to assay Pharmaceutical products which
would introduce me to the real world of Pharmacy.
Having accreditation from the School of Engineering Technology and Applied Science, this
course from the Centennial College will offer me a lot more than a regular BTech course and that
too at a very cost-effective fee. I will be able to master skills in usage of autoclaves, incubators,
PCR thermo cycles, preparation of microbiological media and reagents etc.
In India, the biotechnology sector is highly innovative and offers immense growth. Over the
years, the sector is bound to be among a significant player for innovation in the country. This
sector is enhancing India's global profile and helping in economic development. India is ranked
among the top 12 biotech destinations in the world.
Most of the biotechnology companies in India are located in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore,
Hyderabad, Chennai and Ahmedabad. The top biotech companies in India include Biocon, Serum
Institute of India, Panacea Biotec, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Limited, Bharat Serums
and Vaccines Limited and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.

 Biotechnology offers immense scope and offers some great careers including Quality Control
Technologist, Microbiologist, Scientist, Production and Research Scientist, Research Associate,
Analytical Chemist, Laboratory Technologist, Quality Assurance Technologist and many others.
Not only in the field of medicine, but there are various industries that require biotechnologist and
some of them are Environmental protection, Product development, Production, Sales
management, etc.
A passion for getting world-class education was the main reason I decided to continue my studies
in a foreign destination. Canada was the first place that came to my mind as the quality of
education is the best and being a friendly country, it always welcomes people from international
communities. It is house to thousands of foreign students who are successfully shaping their
career graphs.
Studying at Centennial is one of the best experiences as it is amongst the top colleges in Canada
and has helped thousands of international students to excel in various fields across the world.
The course also consists of paid work co-ops that will help me in better understanding the work
environment. Industry tie-ups are also a benefit as I will get industry exposure and job
opportunities.

including Griffith Laboratories, Kisko Products, Mill Street Brewery, Campbell Soup Company,
bioMerieux, Cosmetica Laboratories Inc., Hermann Laue Spice Company and MAXXAM

I am sure that my future is in safe hands at Centennial and I want to prove my worth has an asset
to employers. I have taken my IELTS examination and scored 7 bands and am awaiting a green
signal to study in my dream destination.
