What You Can Do with the COT Admin Server
The COT Admin Server is software for managing scanner/scanner job/user information.
It can be used to manage multiple scanners connected to a network and to add authentication features to scanners.

Main Features of the COT Admin Server

The main features of this software are described below.
● Job management and distribution
Enables you to distribute jobs to scanners and to create, register,
and manage jobs.
It also enables you to set and manage jobs to distribute to scanners
on a device-by-device or user-by-user basis.
● User management in collaboration with the Active Directory
Enables you to import user information from the Active Directory
and manage users based on such information.
● Authentication by the use of an IC card
Enables you to perform user authentication by reading an IC card
with a scanner main unit.
● Scan function expansions
To functions that can be achieved by using scanners, you can add
advanced functions, such as a variety of image processing
functions, high compression PDF generation, and transmission to
an FTP server.
● Customer-unique destination creation
Enables customers to independently create and register the
destinations of scanned data (supplied by SDK).

5
Configuration of the COT Admin Server
The COT Admin Server consists of the following elements.
● COT Admin Server
Server software for performing job distribution, image processing, and transmission.
● COT Admin Tool
Software for editing jobs and making user authentication settings for scanners.
● Batch management Web app
Web app for checking the status of batch processing after performing a scan.
● COT Admin Server Setting Tool
Tool for setting and managing the COT Admin Server.
● Mail connector settings tool
Tool for setting the e-mail server and address used to send e-mails from the COT Admin.

IC card authentication (simple logon) is performed by using the Active
Directory. For authentication, Active Directory user attribute
information and IC card information must be registered.

1 Start the COT Admin Tool and connect it to the server.

See steps 1 to 4 of “Connecting to the COT Admin Server”
