Alexa Shaine’s 18th Birthday Celebration

A. Introduction
Good afternoon, everyone! Welcome to Sea Breeze here at Brgy. Matobato, Calbayog City!
Welcome to a day of pastel colors in celebration of a wonderful life for a girl who is now turning
into a fine lady.
I’m Hermis and I am your host for today’s celebration. I am very much honored to be your
host for this event. I guess everyone is seated. Please make yourself comfortable as we witness
the turning point of Alexa Shaine’s life.
Just a reminder, this is not a Seminar nor a mass. Everyone is encouraged to participate
and enjoy the celebration.

B. Acknowledgement of all the present guests

Let’ us acknowledge first the presence of our guests and relatives who are here present.
Let’s give a hand to everyone. Your presence is very much appreciated.
C. Grand Entrance and Introduction of the Debutante
All of you who are here today have watched Alexa Shaine grow over the years into the
wonderful person she is now. As a jumpstart, let us all welcome and acknowledge the ever
supportive and loving family of our debutant:

Today is a celebration of adulthood and a thanksgiving of the life God has given to our lovely
celebrant. As we welcome the main highlight of this celebration, and as she stepped into a higher
level of her life, ladies and gentlemen, let us all stand and put our hands together, to our debutant,
ALEXA SHAINE CAÑADA!

E. Welcome Remarks
Evidently, before today, Alexa has had happy years in a very happy home. The love of a family will
always be God’s greatest blessing. Sabi nga nila, in life we can have several friends, classmates, and
social circles, but there is only one family who is always willing and ready to welcome us no matter
what. Ladies and gentlemen, let’s have the mother of the debutant, and of course the ever beautiful
MRS. MARIFE CAÑADA, to welcome all of us to their lovely daughter’s 18 th birthday party. Resounding
applause please.

for her daughter is unconditional and cannot be described in words.

Cake/Cutting of the Cake
At this juncture, A birthday celebration will not be complete without singing our celebrant a
Birthday Song with a cake. May I request the family to light and hand over the cake; and
everyone is requested to stand to join us joyfully sing a birthday song to our debutant.

Indeed, this birthday tradition brought us faith that our life is worth to celebrate and be
grateful to all the things that we have now. And as she blows the cake, prayers and wishes

Let’s be entertained with an intermission number by the nephew and Niece of the debutant,

At this time, we are in the most awaited part of the evening, Dinner…. But before we partake
of the sumptuous buffet that __________________ catering has provided, may we now call

The food is definitely ready and now to maintain order, I will be calling your table number to
have a photo opportunity with the debutant and after that you can already line up at the
buffet area.

I. 18 Roses Dance
Like a pretty flower that attracts bees and butterflies, Krizia Mae will be surrounded by 18 equally
handsome gentlemen who will represent the debutant’s 18 carnations. This flower equates the
traditional 18 roses during debuts.
For this, As we call your name, you will dance the debutant at the center of the venue).

probably one of the most loved traditions in any Filipino debut celebration. This signifies
the daughter’s first step to womanhood and the father’s acceptance of this period in his
daughter’s life.

K. 18 Candles/18 Wishes
Are you guys, still with me? They say, memories are ways to hold on to the things that we
love, and to the things that we don’t want to lose. Sabi nga ni mareng Cynthia Ozick: “What
we remember from childhood, we remember forever.”
At sabi nga “Where there is great love, there are always wishes.” Because birthdays are always new
beginnings, new endeavors with new set of goals, sending birthday messages and wishes is a
tradition especially in our country, where we give high value to family ties and relationship. Now,
ladies and gentlemen, we have 18 selected people who will share with us her unforgettable memory
and wishes with our lovely debutant.
These are the people close to the heart of our celebrant, and whom she listens and confides
to for inspiring words, wishes and friendly advice.
Starting off with the woman dearest to Alexa’s heart, representing the candle that will be a
source of light for all the well-wishers for our dear Alexa, here’s 1. Sister Ashley Shaine
Cañada!

Seems like our gorgeous debutant really enjoyed this day. From the shared memories, Alexa has
shared a part of her growing years with all of us. And thank you to our wishers hopefully
masakatuparan ang mga wishes and advice para kay Alexa.
Many ancient cultures believed that smoke carried their prayers to the heavens. So, at the
count of three, members of the 18 Wishes, let’s say “May all our wishes come true” and blow
our candles together. 1, 2, and 3…

L. Break
All of you who are here today are closest to Alexa. Sabi nga nila, friendship is a million little things.
This time, I’d like to ask Alexa’s dear friends this question: “What is that one word that best describes
our debutant, and why?”

M. 18 Bills/18 Treasures
At this juncture, we will have the 18 bills or 18 Treasures. It’ll remind her that when she was 18, 18
of her loved ones and friends stood for this generosity. How she uses the money will depend on her
although it is highly advisable to save the money first for future endeavors.
On this ritual, the debutant will dance kuratsa on the center of the venue. The 18 bills or Treasure
will be called one by one to partner our debutante. The bill will serves as a Gala for the kuratsa
dance. The collected gala will first earning of the debutant as a transition to her next stage of her life.
N. Games

O. 18 Shots
A toast or a drink is taken to honor the debutante; this is called the 18 shots ritual. Eighteen important
people are chosen to honor the lady of the night.
Namely:

Via Marie Lentajas will lead the 18 shots representative and will give her well-wishes to the debutant
before the actual toasting.

Everyone let’s raise our glass.

P. Debutante’s Thank You Message

Tonight’s celebration tells me that the best demonstration of gratitude in response to a wonderful
experience like this one can be contained in an overwhelming thank you. Maraming salamat po for
making us a part of this memorable occasion. And if there’s one person here tonight who is more
than grateful to see all of you, that would be our beloved celebrant, Alexa. I’m giving the floor to our
dear debutant to give her message for all of us.

The night is young, and so are we, diba? Are you ready to party? We have just actually
started. Again, thank you for having me here to celebrate with all of you. Isang malakas na
“Happy birthday, Alexa! naman diyan. At the count of three…1, 2, 3, HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
ALEXA! Our debutant is not just a pretty face but also a very talented lady. Thank you very
