SSC CHSL Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2022: To prepare for the SSC Combined Higher
Secondary Level (10+2) exam, it is important to get well versed with the SSC CHSL exam
pattern & topic-wise syllabus.
To help you reach your goal, we've updated the detailed SSC CHSL Tier 1 syllabus and exam
pattern for the post of Data Entry Operator (DEO), Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC/JSA), Court
Clerk & Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants (PS/SA).

The Tier-I paper will be objective type. There will be 100 questions for which candidates will
get 60 minutes.

There will be a Descriptive Paper (Offline, Pen & Paper Mode) in SSC CHSL Tier-II Exam.
You can start your exam with any of the following sections given in the below table.
Note: Minimum Qualifying Marks in this exam is 33%. Marks of this exam will be calculated in
preparing the final list of qualified students.
There will be a Skill Test/Typing Test. Skill Test/ Typing Test will be of qualifying in nature.

• It is of Qualifying nature.
• Candidates should possess Data Entry Speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour on the
computer.
• They will be given printed matter in English which they have to type on the computer.
• The test is for 15 minutes and candidates should have a minimum speed of 2000-2200
strokes/key-depressions in order to qualify.
• Candidates should possess Data Entry Speed of 15,000 key depressions per hour on the
computer.
• You will be given printed matter in English which they have to type on the computer.
• The test is for 15 minutes and candidates should have a minimum speed of 3700-4000
strokes/key-depressions in order to qualify.

• Typing Test will be conducted only in English or Hindi and candidates while applying for
the Examination will have to indicate his/her choice/option for Typing Test Medium in
the Application Form.
• Candidates opting for English medium should have a typing speed of 35 words per
minute and those opting for Hindi medium should have a typing speed of 30 words per
minute corresponds to 10500 key depressions per hour and 30 wpm corresponds to 9000
key depressions per hour respectively.
• The speed will be adjudged on the accuracy of typing on the computer of a given text
passage in 10 minutes.
