1) Scrooge's physical appearance

=line 1= "a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, covetous old sinner!"

- Gives the reader an impression of a sad, nasty and disgusting creature.

=line 4= "The cold within him froze his old features, nipped his pointed nose,
shrivelled his cheek, stiffened his gait; made his eyes red, his thin lips blue;"
- Gives the reader the image of a sad, crooked and bitchy old man.

2) Scrooge's personality and moral character

=line 1= "a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, covetous old sinner!"

- the word "sinner" gives the impression that he is a little evil shit

=line 2= "Hard and sharp as flint"

- He has a rigid and stubborn character, and is mean as shit like a flint.

=line 2= "Hard and sharp as flint, from which no steel had ever struck out generous
fire;"
- Although being compared to a flint, Scrooge has no purpose to others as he
doesn't bring any "fire" or general good to humanity

=line 3= "secret, and self-contained, and solitary as an oyster."

- He tends to keep to himself

=line 3= "The cold within him"

=line 6= "He carried his own low temperature always about with him; he iced his
office in the dog days; and didn't thaw it one degree on Christmas."
- Stubborn and set on his own principles

=line 9= "No wind that blew was bitterer than he, no falling snow was more intent
its purpose, no pelting rain less open to entreaty."
- Stubborn, principled, hell-bent and an asshole

3) Scrooge's motivations

Maybe one of Scrooges motivations is that since he is already a sad old grub, and
worse than everybody, than he might aswell be an asshole
to everyone since they aren't as bad as him. Also, since he's so awful and keeps to
himself than he could follow his own sickly principles
wherever he goes and doesn't allow people to argue with him.
