group
4. Make a short video of service promotion with your group member
5. Each group member must take part in that video
6. Create your video creatively

Exercise
Bali has been one of the most popular tourist destinations in South-east Asia, that attracting
tourist from other country. It is decorated by the beautiful beaches and views, the peaceful place
and the strong culture. This attraction can increase visitor’s attractions. There are many
categories of visitors in Bali from back packers, student, and exclusive tourist. But these recent
years, some issues come up about Bali such criminal and unprofessional agencies had a very
adverse effect on tourism across Asia. Many destinations reacted by discounting to win back
tourist confidence and branding to try to differentiate their country’s appeal from others. The
Tourism Authority engaged AET (Andalas Education Tours ) as their agency. Their marketing
objectives were to: 1. increase the number of tourist arrivals; 2. increase average daily spending
rates of tourist; 3. raise the profile of Bali by targeting prestige market segments. AET’s
approach to strategic campaign planning entails a focus on customer orientation, perception
change and integration, all linked under the overarching concept of the brand. Their for phases
approach begins with analysis, in which they consider the branding and marketing issues and
generate communications strategies and ideas. The second phase entails strategic planning of
integrated media solutions. In the third phase the campaign is executed, and the fourth phase
involves monitoring the brand health and marketing objectives in the context of the campaign’s
execution.

Questions:
1. Do it in the group, discuss about the group’s perceptions of Bali. What kinds of promotional
or communication that can change the people’s view about Bali?
2. Knowing about Bali’s condition, what do you think about AET’s solution? can the group find
the other way and opinion as the solution?
3. Please do role play as an AET agencies to promote this tourism!

Answer:

1. Eka Wardina:
At this time, because there are negative issues against Bali, such as the existence of criminal
institutions and so on, it has caused a decline in the popularity of Bali tourism. In our
opinion, to increase the popularity of Bali tourism again, promotions are needed that can
attract both domestic and foreign tourists. The promotion that can be given is to take
advantage of the benefits of these tourist attractions. For example, the beach We can attract
tourists by showing them beautiful and clean places. And we can also promote the place
online, such as by sending photos of the beautiful surroundings, so that it can attract tourists.
Then there's Bali, which has a rich cultural heritage. There are many relics from the ancient
kingdom, with its various customs and cultures. So that we can promote these cultural
heritages in order to attract tourists. It will also be able to eliminate negative issues against
Bali by promoting this culture, such as criminal institutions and so on.
Muhammad Riecky Chenju:
And also, we could spread the information that the government is working on to clear the
Bali's Criminal and Unprofessional Agencies. Also, we need to use an influencer to spread
how great Bali is and convince the promising tourist that Bali is not what they think about for
the Criminal and the Unprofesional Agencies.

Digita Desri :
As we know, there are currently issues of crime in Bali being circulated, this has caused a
decline in the popularity of tourism in Bali. We can increase the popularity of tourism again
by carrying out interesting and unique promotions. By taking advantage of the advantages
that Bali has such as natural objects, for example beaches (Kuta beach, Sanur beach)
mountains and beautiful lakes, resorts, culture, customs and customs.
Bali also has friendly people. We can spread this promotion through social media, by making
advertising videos, posters and other interesting content.

2. Dita Eka Nur Sakina:


Responding to the condition of the island of Bali which is known for its many criminal acts
and unprofessional agencies, AET agency can improve the quality of tourism services and
accommodations such as providing friendly and courteous service to tourists, providing
comfortable accommodation and adequate transportation accommodation from one place to
another.

Agnes Natasya:
In our opinion the AET’s solution is a good solution for Bali’s condition but Indonesian’s
government especially Bali’s government should be aware for this beginning disruption
because it can be in flame. So, the government should find out and take a act the provocative
to make deterrent effect and no more criminal in Bali.

Fadillah:
In our opinion too, the AET solution is a good solution for the current condition of Bali. As
we know, the crime rate in Bali is still high. By improving services such as increasing
awareness, friendliness towards tourists, and the quality of the benefits provided by taking
into account branding issues, tourist interests and cooperating with local tourism.

Eric Chandra Manalu:


By improving services such as increasing awareness, friendliness towards tourists, and the

cooperating with local tourism. the Indonesian government, especially the Balinese
government, must be aware of this initial disturbance because it can inflame.
