WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF RESEARCH
Here are some things you may wish to know, as you undertake this wonderful
journey:

v You are not the first or only one to feel intimidated by the word “research”
v If others were afraid about research and they were eventually able to learn how
to do it, you can do it too.
v Research actually part of our daily life; therefore, it is quite interesting to do.
v Skills that you learn in research can help improve your own life, the life of your
loved ones, and the life of large communities.

v This subject will help your learn research in such an amazing way that you will
never be afraid of research again.
v You will learn to see the world around you a lot differently than you ever done
before.
v By developing your research skills, you prepare yourself quite well for your future
studies and even your future work.
PRACTICAL RESEARCH 1
Subject Description: The subject aims to develop critical thinking and problem-
solving skills through qualitative research.

Motivation for STEM Research
v To provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate the knowledge, skills
and emotional disposition through self-directed yet guided hybrid learning
activities.
v To prepare students for College degree programs that are research-centered,
collaborative and may even be interdisciplinary in nature.
v To develop the next generation of young researchers with good oral and written
communication skills for various audiences
v To sustain the growth of research that can bring about necessary changes and
impact to our society.

Class Policies
ü The rules and regulations stipulated in the Student
Handbook must be adhered to.
ü Attendance will be strictly checked. The subject
teacher will assign someone from the class to monitor
the class attendance every day.
Class Policies
ü Smartphones and other electronic gadgets should be switched
to silent mode, and should not be displayed or used during
class hours.
ü Leaving the classroom while the class is going on is strictly
prohibited except for extreme emergencies.
ü Deadline is a deadline. You are advised to submit your work
before or on the deadline. Late work (i.e. projects,
assignments, etc.) will not be entertained.

Written Works (Quizzes, Post-test, Summative tests)- 25%


Performance Tasks- (Infographics, Activity Sheets, Class
Participation, Research paper)-45%
Quarterly Examination-30%

ü April 20-21, 2023: 3rd Quarter Examination
ü June 5-9, 2023: Mock Defense
ü June 17, 2023: Final Defense
ü June 29-30, 2023: 4th Quarter Examination
