 LBUS Direct Implementation

 Use of Library

Schneider Electric - CS&P – C264 LBUS Configuration – E01 3

• Add / Configure a LBUS (1)
1) LBUS can be added at MiCOM C264 Level => Protocol Oriented

2) LBUS attributes (example given with T103, cf. C264 AP chapter)

Number of retries :
number of time C264 will try to poll IED
Acknowledgement time-out :
IED response time-out

Synchronization cycle :
periodic synchro. frames
Inter frame Downgraded cycle :
when IED not responding, periodic retry
Schneider Electric - CS&P – C264 LBUS Configuration – E01 4
• Add / Configure a LBUS (2)
3) Connect LBUS to communication port

4) Configure C264 communication

Communication parameters
Note that COM3 and COM4 should have same
transmission speed
For COM3 and COM4 => Tx carrier management
set to Switched

Schneider Electric - CS&P – C264 LBUS Configuration – E01 5

• Add / Configure an IED (1)
1) IED can be added at LBUS Level

2) IED attributes (example given with T103, cf. C264 AP chapter)

IED @ on LBUS

Automatic disturbance available for SMT +

local name for COMTRADE file display in
viewing tool (WaveWin, …)
N/A for DNP3

No space in the name of the directory

Schneider Electric - CS&P – C264 LBUS Configuration – E01 6

• Add / Configure an IED (2)
3) IED Should be connected to a Acq Profile

1) Add the IED Acq Profile under LBUS

2) Complete relation “has for acq profile”
between IED and acq profile

4) Acq Profile attributes (example given with T103, cf. C264 AP chapter)
4.1) General Tab

IED main protective function code

here T103 FTYPE = 160 (OC)

Schneider Electric - CS&P – C264 LBUS Configuration – E01 7

• Add / Configure an IED (3)
4) Acq Profile attributes (example given with T103, cf. C264 AP chapter)
4.2) Acquisition Tab
GI period :
- 0 => GI at connection only
- advised = 3600s (1h)

MV reduction coefficient :
- 1.2 or 2.4 (cf. IED documentation)
- MV = red_coeff x transmitted val x nominal val.

Nominal values per setting group

AI channel : Channel number as per IED setting

5) Under Acq Profile => disturbance channels

Schneider Electric - CS&P – C264 LBUS Configuration – E01 8

• Add / Configure IED Mapping (1)
1) Add DP (DataPoints) addresses

IED Mapping :
set of SPS, DPS, MPS, MV, SPC, DPC, …
managed by IED (cf. IED documentation)

To add a DP address :
1) select kind of DP Mapping
2) Through Objects Entry Window, add an address

Schneider Electric - CS&P – C264 LBUS Configuration – E01 9

• Add / Configure IED Mapping (2)
2) Configure DP addresses (example given with T103)
2.1) SPS address

SPS address :
as per IED documentation, here ASDU, FTYP
and INF (as per IEC-60870-5-103 standard
public or IED private)

2.2) DPS address

DPS address :
as per IED documentation, here ASDU, FTYP
and INF (as per IED private)

Contact = relevant status

Schneider Electric - CS&P – C264 LBUS Configuration – E01 10

• Add / Configure IED Mapping (3)
2) Configure DP addresses (example given with T103)
2.3) SPC address

SPC address :
as per IED documentation, here ASDU, FTYP
and INF (as per IEC-60870-5-103 standard
public or IED private)

DE/SBO regarding LBUS protocol

2.4) MV address

MV address :
as per IED documentation, here ASDU, FTYP,
INF and index=rank in ASDU (as per IEC-60870-
5-103 standard public or IED private)

Schneider Electric - CS&P – C264 LBUS Configuration – E01 11

• Add / Configure IED Mapping (4)
3) Link DP with the relevant address (example given with T103)
=> Relation “has for IED address”

Under datapoint :
DP link with relevant address on the IED

Schneider Electric - CS&P – C264 LBUS Configuration – E01 12

• Miscellaneous (1)
1) IED System information

IED SPS Com :

Gives connection status between C264 and IED
(animated at PACiS OI Level)

IED SPS Synchro :

Gives IED synchronization status

+ IED RDRE Ready :

SPS indicates when IED disturbance file is ready at C264 level

Note : “ext IEC Mapping” added by “SBUS automatic addressing”,

but not in template

 LBUS Direct Implementation

 Use of Library

Schneider Electric - CS&P – C264 LBUS Configuration – E01 16

• Why using a template?
1) Direct implementation :
=> configure IED general info
=> add mapping (DP addresses)
=> add DP and link

Repeat for each IED and then test resulting configuration

=> JOB INTENSIVE

2) Template instantiations :
=> DP and links already done
=> only configure IED name and @
=> repeatable
=> all DP already tested OK => IED integration

=> SAVE TIME

Schneider Electric - CS&P – C264 LBUS Configuration – E01 17

• List of integrated IED and relevant
templates
1) Integrated IED :
=> PACiS version + IED version
=> integration report
=> relevant template

2) List of integrated IED :

=> LN database “Products and System Info”
