Performance requirements by BCA Vol 1 FP 1.6 and
Vol 2 P 2.4.1
Class 1 to 10 “To protect the structure of the building and to maintain the
amenity of the occupants, water must be prevented from penetrating
a) behind fittings and linings; or
b) into concealed spaces of sanitary facilities, bathrooms,
laundries and the like”
Class 2 to 9 “Overflow…must be prevented from penetrating to – another
sole occupancy unit… - public areas…in a storey below in the same
building.”
